Wrinkles Linked To Stressful Events

The death of a spouse or child is the most stressful event in life, according to Richard Rahe, a leading stress researcher. These and other stressful events can make you look older by giving you lots of wrinkles!
Other stressful and wrinkle-causing events in life are the death of one’s parents, the loss of one’s job, pregnancy, and decreased income.
The rankings made by Rahe are based on the relative amounts of stress associated with different events. These estimates were derived from questionnaires in which people were asked the degree of adjustment each event required. The adjustments made by respondents were expressed in “life change units” (LCUs) in which higher units denoted a high degree of stress.
The death of a spouse had a LCU of 105 while the death of one’s parents had a score of 66. Loss of job scored 64 while pregnancy and decreased income both got 60. Other stressors include foreclosure on a mortgage or loan (57), being held in jail (57), separation from spouse (56), and a major change in the health or behavior of a family member (52).
Investment and/or credit difficulties had an LCU of 43; a visit to a dentist had a stress factor of 40; while an injury or illness scored 25.
Medical experts say stressful episodes in life can lead to a host of ailments like tiredness, hypertension, headaches, diarrhea, ulcers, and heart disease. These stressful events can also make you look tired, haggard, older, and leave their mark on your face in the form of wrinkles.
“There is growing evidence that stress hormones may play a role in a wide variety of illnesses, from hormonal diseases like diabetes and thyroid conditions to psychiatric illnesses, including anorexia nervosa, panic attacks, and obsessive-compulsive disorder,” according to Dr. Kenneth R. Pelletier of the Stanford University School of Medicine in “Mind/Body Medicine.”

$75 Billion Lost Yearly Due To Stress

About $75 billion is lost yearly in the United States alone due to stress-related health problems, according to Drs. Mario Orlandi, Donald Prue and Annette Spence in the “Encyclopedia of Good Health: Stress and Mental Health.”
The losses come from work absences and health and insurance charges. Each year, the working population loses over 45 million days because of stress. Total mental expenditures run to more than $14 billion yearly. These figures show that stress is expensive.
In what ways does stress harm the body? Medical experts say stress affects people physically, psychologically, and behaviorally. When stress builds up in the body, it gives rise to a host of conditions that can affect one’s health.
Prolonged stress can overwork your body and cause it to stop functioning smoothly. This may cause physical signs that include back pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, exhaustion, fainting, insomnia, nausea, shortness of breath, skin rashes, and an upset stomach. To matters worse, too much stress can ruin your face since it makes you look tired and old, and causes wrinkles
Psychologically, stress can cause anger, anxiety, boredom, depression, fatigue, frustration, guilt, hopelessness, hostility, impatience, irritability, and restlessness. These signs and symptoms may occur as a result of stress and can complicate your problem further since they cause additional stress.
Any change in behavior can be the result of stress. If you find yourself doing things you weren’t doing before like biting your fingernails or talking too fast or too loud, chances are it’s because of stress. Stress can also cause habits like lip biting, foot-tapping or foot-turning, jerking movements, overreacting, stuttering, swearing or touching the hair, ears or nose.

Coffee, Smoking Aggravate Stress, Cause Wrinkles

Coffee breaks and smoking can aggravate rather than relieve stress. They will also give you more wrinkles!
This was revealed by Dr. Mario Orlandi, Dr. Donald Prue, and medical journalist Annette Spence in the “Encyclopedia of Good Health: Stress and Mental Health.”
Traditionally, people turn to alcohol, smoking or drugs to help them relieve stress. Unfortunately, the opposite happens, according to medical experts. Instead of taking away stress, these chemical stressors contribute to the problem. Having a lot of stress also affects your face, making you susceptible to wrinkles.
The reason this happens is because these bad habits contain body-altering chemicals that affect people in many ways. For instance, caffeine and other stimulants in coffee, tea, and soft drinks can increase the output of stress hormones. The same is true with nicotine in cigarettes that stimulates the adrenal gland, producing stress hormones.
If you think drinking puts you in the mood to work, you’re wrong. Alcohol can damage the digestive and cardiovascular (heart and blood) systems, and can lead to physical problems or illness that can worsen stress.
Drugs like tranquilizers can help people relax. But when taken without a doctor’s supervision, they can be dangerous since they have many side effects. Drug use (e.g. marijuana or cocaine) can make you high at first but it also aggravates stress.
“Oddly enough, people rely on some of these chemicals to relieve stress. Temporarily, cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana and drugs, especially tranquilizers may help stressed individuals feel better. In the long run, however, you can see how chemicals only create more stress by producing damaging physical and emotional side effects and, therefore, more stressful problems such as an inability to deal with life’s demands. Therefore, using them really doesn’t make sense,” researchers said.

Credit Cards Leading Cause Of Stress, Wrinkles

Thinking of getting a credit card? Before you do, think twice. Doing so can lead to financial problems, a major cause of stress that, in turn, causes wrinkles!
According to American stress researchers Drs. T. H. Holmes and Richard Rahe, financial problems and credit difficulties are a common source of stress. Credit-card debt has also been implicated as one of the leading causes of divorce.
Ironically, many people get a credit card because they think it is convenient and will help make their lives easier. That’s true if you don’t overspend and pay your debts on time.
But if you go beyond your credit limit and pay only a little amount of your outstanding balance every month – which is what banks and other credit outfits want you to do – you’ll be starting a vicious cycle that could keep you in debt forever.
“Remember that a bad credit record will dog you for years. Nothing can screw up your life faster than going overboard with your credit cards. Your card payment record will shadow you in everything you do, including buying a home (or renting), getting a job, and opening a checking account,” said financial journalists Robert K. Heady and Christy Heady in “The Complete Idiot's Guide to Managing Your Money.”

How To Survive The Holidays With Less Wrinkles

Christmas means many things to many people. It’s a time for family reunions, heavy partying, and gift giving.
For most people, however, the holidays can mean one big headache. That’s not surprising if you consider the things Christmas does to us. The crowded malls, heavy traffic, hectic schedules, and the rush to complete your Christmas gift list can take its toll on your face and body.
Indeed, the holidays can drain you both physically and mentally, leaving you tired, irritated and burned out. To top it off, all that stress can affect your face by giving you wrinkles!
Some people are greatly bothered by the holidays that they feel depressed and suffer from sleepless nights, fatigue and weakness. This is the time when happy holidays turn into a nightmare.
The good news is that you don’t have to suffer from any of these problems. With a little patience, careful planning, and practical preparation, you can enjoy the holidays without the pain, suffering, and wrinkles that go with it.
To ensure that your Christmas is merry and bright, here are some tips from Dermaxin, a potent wrinkle-fighter that delivers dramatic and visible results comparable to popular cosmetic injections. This unique cream will give you a natural facelift without the side effects and complications of other cosmetic procedures.

Easy Makeup Tips for Women Over 40

Everyone turns over 40 years old sooner or later but why must you look that way? Here are a few great makeup tips for those over 40 but would never admit it.
As with all makeup you need to start with great skin. Before you start any makeup application you need to moisturize your face. Make sure you moisturize with creams and serums that are rich with retinals, antioxidants and peptides to help wage war on those all tell all fine lines. Also before applying foundation use a silicone rich primer to help create a smoother finish. Makeup for those over 40 means we need to start wearing foundation to help over up some small problems that have turn up.
If ruddiness (redness) is a problem, try this:
Start by applying a sheer foundation and apply more light layers of foundation over the areas that need more coverage, then gradually build it up till you have full coverage. You will find that a yellow based foundation works best, but do try to match it to your won personal skin tone.
Test on your jaw line in natural light if possible. Don't test it on the back of your hand when trying out foundations, the skin tone won't match and you will find that the color of foundation will be not quite right.
Playing up your eyes:
Eye shadows that you wore when you were in your 30's just may not be right now. Someone had come up with a silly rule that once you hit 40 its time to put away all your favorite vivid greens, purples, pinks eye shadows. Rules are not the same any longer, just change a little. All you need to do is stay away from any eye shadows that are iridescent because they will accentuate any fine lines that you may have.
Still, feel the need to wear one of your favorite color of eye shadow that's a bit wild?
Do this which is a up date for those who wear makeup over 40.
Start with your makeup primer, then apply a neutral color, your browns, beiges, bone then layer over that you favorite I'm not over 40 eye shadow. Don't forget your eyeliner either. Just apply along your lash line then smudge it to help give your lashes a fuller look. Also don't forget to curl your lashes before applying your mascara and if you want really long full eye lashes look into Magic Lash Eyelash Enhancer.

Going To The Dentist Is Stressful

Visiting your dentist may sound like a good health habit but it can cause stress, according to stress researchers Drs. Mario Orlandi, Donald Prue, and Annette Spence in the “Encyclopedia of Good Health: Stress and Mental Health.”
Other stressful situations are kissing someone for the first time, giving a speech, and waiting for an important phone call. Depending on how you react, these situations can make or break you.
While stress is part of human life, too much can lead to physical and mental problems. Stress can also make you look old and ugly, and give you plenty of wrinkles. Researchers said this comes from the “stressors” around us. The stressors can either be major as in the loss of a loved one or minor such as anxiously waiting for a phone call. Our reaction or overreaction to these things is what causes stress.
For instance, a man may become nervous and excited while waiting for his long-due promotion. In this case, the stressor is the promotion while his nervousness and excitement are causing stress.
Since life is full of challenges, the researchers said stress can come from various incidents such as driving a car, getting sick, failing a test, staying up late at night, going to work or losing a pet.
Other situations which you probably don’t consider stressful but are actually contributing to stress are opening birthday gifts, getting good grades, missing the bus, graduating from school, winning first place, riding a roller coaster, and choosing a very special gift. All of these episodes contribute to your overall stress level.
“Still we can’t - and don’t completely want to - avoid stressors. Try to imagine life without some stress. You wouldn’t have any challenges, anything to affect your emotions or anything new or exciting. A life without stressors would mean everything is the same, all the time – and that is boring,” researchers said.

Barber Chairs - A Short History of the Trim

The history of the barber chair is a long and interesting one. They have been the site of political decisions and style changes. Although barber shops have been seen as the domain of men, women are increasing using their services for their haircuts.
A barber is defined as someone who cuts hair, trims beards, and shaves men's faces. With the advances in disposable and electric razors, barbers tend to focus on cutting hair in modern times. Barbershops tend to focus on simple haircuts, although many stylists in hair salons are master barbers as well.
Evidence suggests that barbers were present in ancient times. Barbering even has a mention in the Old Testament of the Bible. In 296 B.C., barbershops were introduced to Rome where they quickly became a center for gossip and talk. People came to sit in the barber chair and talk to others. Many individuals would stop in each day to get the latest news.
In past times, barbers not only cut hair and shaved beards, but they also acted as doctors and dentists. They extracted teeth, performed blood letting, and conducted surgery on wounds. The barber's pole originated with the blood letting service, symbolizing the clean and bloody cloths used in the process. Barber surgeons formed their first organization in 1094.
In 1492, barbers formed their own guild in England. They were helped along in their business by laws that taxed individuals who wore beards. Most individuals choose to have their faces shaved on a regular basis by a barber rather than pay the tax. Other rulers of the time, such as Peter the Great in Russia, liked the laws and extended them in their own countries. This helped keep the barber chairs full.
By the late 1700s, the professions of barbers and surgeons had separated. Barbers concentrated on cutting hair and shaving beards, although their shops remained places of gossip and daily news. In many places, a boy's first haircut and shave was an important event in their life and signaled their march toward manhood.
Today, barbershops generally offer simpler haircuts than beauty salons or spas. Increasing, women are choosing to utilize barbershops for short or simple haircuts because they cost much less than the same cut at a salon. In small towns, the barber can still be the place to go for town gossip and political discussion.

What to Consider When Buying the Best Tanning Lotion for Tanning Beds

Tanning beds are definitely not low-maintenance. Frequent use of tanning beds means running out of restockable items quickly - things like tanning light bulbs and tanning lotion. You have to keep tabs on the amount of these materials that you still have at hand, in order to keep from missing a tanning session. As we all know, it is important to stick to a tanning schedule, in order to get a more even, longer-lasting tan. It is also important to get the best tanning lotion for tanning beds that are at hand.
If you're out to find the best tanning lotion for tanning beds, there are three primary factors you have to consider:
1. Cost. Tanning lotions come at a wide range of prices, starting from $15 a bottle and up. Normally, fancier lotions are the ones that cost more - so if you are out to save, be prepared to stay away from the fancier brands and stick with the regular lotions.
You should also look into which size bottle would be the most practical to stock. Smaller bottles are cheaper, but if you have to buy a lot of small bottles, compared to just one larger bottle of the same solution, you may end up saving more if you buy the larger bottle. This way, instead of using up smaller bottles frequently, you can take your time using up a large bottle and not spending on new solutions or refills as soon as if you would be using up smaller bottles.
If you are a very casual user and you would like to try out different tanning lotions before settling on just one, consider buying single-use sachets before settling on a bottle. Sachets or packets could cost anything from $2 up (yes, even $5 packets could be put on sale), but if the full bottle costs something like $80, trying a small amount before buying the whole deal is only the smart option.
2. SPF or sun protection factor. Some tanning beds are labeled "high pressure," which means they were designed primarily to house bulbs that emit more UVA than UVB light. This means they were made to create a darker tan in less time than regular tanning beds could produce. They also require the use of stronger protective lotions, in order not to damage one's skin or contract skin diseases from prolonged exposure to the stronger UVA lights.
Consider the strength of the tanning bulbs when shopping for the best lotions. Lotions with lower SPF may indeed be cost-efficient, but they will not give your body adequate protection.
3. Special additions. Tanning lotions are definitely not created equal. Some promise a darker tan in less time, others promise bronze colorations, healthier skin, better UVA protection, et cetera. Naturally, lotions that offer one or more special additions would cost more than standard tanning lotions.

Where and How to Acquire Discount Tanning Bulbs

Tanning bed bulbs need to be replaced regularly to keep one's tanning bed in top performance. The bulbs are the soul of the tanning system, the essential element in producing the perfect tan. However, needing to replace them every so often also makes them the number one reminder of how expensive it could be to maintain a tanning bed. To save on the cost of buying bulbs, people who own tanning beds and lamps look up good deals on discount tanning bulbs on the Internet. But if you are new to the task, where and how exactly should you start your search?
The bulbs' manufacturer's or dealers' website is actually a good place to start. If the dealers or manufacturers have a website, you could visit it regularly or whenever you need to, simply to check up on good deals. Alternatively, if they have a mailing list where you can stay in touch with product updates, you could simply sign up for these mailing lists and have the sale announcements land in your inbox as soon as they are put up. When your favorite bulbs' dealer or manufacturer's website advertises discount tanning bulbs on sale, take advantage and don't just buy the replacement set that you need - buy an extra set!
Sometimes though, you can't wait for your favorite dealer or manufacturer to put up a sale. In that case, look into other online stores that offer tanning bulbs at a substantial discount. They, too, may have special offers or sales that you may avail of on the fly.
Shipping is a major factor in calculating the cost of acquiring new bulbs. If you can find a reliable onshore (read: not offshore, or located in another country) dealer that offers free shipping, you can save a great deal on the cost of acquiring bulbs, right off the bat. You'll get even bigger savings if this dealer happens to be generous and offer a discount on bulk buys!
Personal ads in the classifieds section of your newspaper should be among your last resorts. Used bulbs are a no-no. You may come across advertisements for bulbs that are very cheap, with the notice "only slightly used" attached to them. Never fall prey to this! The savings may be substantial, but there's a good chance the bulbs themselves will be substandard. A deal like this would be especially dodgy if the selling owner could not tell you exactly how many hours the bulbs have already used up.
In other words, the newer the bulbs, the better the tan. And while we can't say that all firsthand store-bought discount tanning bulbs have the same lifespan, at least they can more or less offer optimum tanning within an easily projectible time frame; the packs should indicate how long a bulb is expected to last, and when it would be ideal to replace them. In contrast, secondhand bulbs are simply unreliable.

Radical Beauty - Be Gorgeous Right Now

We've gotten into ruts. Habits. Comfort, TV, and bunny slippers. And it's got to stop. There is no weight-loss with junk food in our pantries. There is no career-building time with long queues of movie rentals.
Being energetic, strong, well-rounded, beautiful, and mentally sharp is a lifestyle we can all have right now.
Are you ready for a new life? Here's how we do it:
1) We eat more fruits, veggies, and soy. We cut way back on meat of any kind, including fish. For most of us, this is the most radical change we will make.
2) We prohibit junk food of any kind, type, or shape, to enter our homes. No sodas, no chips, no frozen snack-type things. It's not just for ourselves that we do this, it's for our children. No child should be allowed to wander into the pantry and just start munching away at cupcakes. Adults must not stock freezers with ice cream, frozen pizza bits, or overly salted and chemicalized prepared meals. The fridge needs to be cola-free at all times.
3) We stock our homes with fruit juices, interesting teas, and healthy snacks. You can find healthy snack recipes anywhere, but a cold fresh veggie tray with a health-food store dip is a good place to start. And by the way, fresh carrots are actually sweet! Children usually love them. Keep ingredients for wholesome meals always on hand. This doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of time cooking. But it does take planning. Egg dishes, wok meals, whole wheat spaghetti-based dinners, are all good start-up ideas.
4) We give up cocktail hour. A glass of wine with dinner once in a while is not a problem. A glass of wine every night is. You must set your own limits, but most of us need to make radical cut-backs in the amount of alcohol we drink. And guys, don't forget - beer is alcohol, too. Keep alcohol out of the house. If you're going to have company over, buy just the wine for that occasion. Usually if it's in the house, we'll eat it or drink it. Alcohol is a natural depressant. It also slows our mental processes down.
5) We initiate - and stick to - family-based exercise. Yes, the kids have to workout too. American children are at risk for obesity, and changing to a radical lifestyle of daily exercise for everyone, is one way to keep yourself and your kids in shape. The gym can be expensive for an entire family, so you might opt for walks or bike rides in the evenings, dance lessons after school, or a family sport such as ice skating or baseball.
If you're single and don't have the momentum of other people behind you, you must still exercise every day. Going for a walk is easy, takes little motivation, and is actually pleasant. Just remember, this is it. We can't put it off any longer. Radical changes must be radically adhered to.
6) If we don't already have a hobby or an activity that relaxes our bodies and minds, now's the time to get one. Teach the children to relax with their hobbies instead of zoning out in front of the computer or TV. We need to put some muscle into our parenting. Remember, you're the boss of the children. You're not their servant, housekeeper, or friend. Your job is to teach them skills for successful living. Reading is always a good hobby, as is gardening, scrapbooking, sports, music, dance, writing. There are so many awesome activities that we're all missing out on. Radical change: take advantage of the good fortune with which we are blessed, rather than vegetablizing in front of electronic games.
Radical Compassion Makes You Beautiful, Too!
7) We learn to react to situations with love, compassion, and understanding. We can always get mad or go to war later, when we understand intellectually what must be done. But (aside from being suddenly attacked on the street at night) our new radical lifestyle requires us to practice compassion.
How does radical compassion translate into daily living? A million ways, from tiny to huge.
Tiny: Someone cuts in front of you while driving. Instead of feeling your blood pressure rise, cursing out loud (often in front of the kids), or honking, we simply slow down to allow them in, take a deep breath, understand that they are wrong to do that, but we are right to drive safely anyway, and perhaps imagine them (if we're still riled up) saving a lost puppy in the rain.

Secrets of Hair Health for Maximum Growth Revealed

Your hair is the crowning glory of your beauty, dignity, and personality. The association with health and hair is lifelong, and hair is among the very few things on your person that you are extremely passionate about. Naturally, you are very much concerned about the growth and well being of your hair. A number of factors like genetics, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle, and environment influence growth of hair and its good health.
Hair grows from the follicular cells on the skin and its lifecycle is marked by three distinct phases. These three phases are the growth phase or Anagen, the transitional phase or Catagen, and the weaning off phase or Telogen. On an average, human hair grows ½" a month. Average human scalp contains 100,000 to 150,000 hairs and sheds 50 to 100 hairs daily. Generally a hair has 3 to 6 year lifespan.
The Anagen phase is of around 1000 days, during which the hair grows rapidly from the follicle to the mature elongated shaft stage deeply embedded in the scalp. The following Catagen phase is of 1-2 weeks duration, during which the hair stops growing and the follicle begins to shrink. Finally, in the Telogen phase, the old hair dies out. At any point of time, around 90% of your hair is in the Anagen phase, and the rest 10% is in the Catagen and Telogen phases.
Although your body systems are well equipped to initiate and sustain natural hair growth and maintain its beauty and luster, hair problems are very common these days. Most of it is due to nutritional and systemic deficiencies, illness, environmental pollution, lack of proper hair care, excessive use of artificial hair applicators and use of sub-standard cosmetics.
Genetic loading or heredity is also an important factor, often limiting healthy hair growth. Unbalanced diet can deprive your hair of essential nutrients, and lead to brittleness, dryness, dandruff, and eventually hair loss.
As hair is made up of a protein, keratin, your diet must contain sufficient amount of protein in the form of lean meat, fish, egg, yogurt, peas, nuts and beans. Besides proteins, Vitamins, and particularly B-complex vitamins are extremely essential for hair. They play a major role in restoring the health of hair.
Iron, zinc, sulphur, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous and iodine are some of the important minerals required for optimum hair growth. Iron prevents dullness and brittleness of hair, whereas iodine and sulphur play a protective role by helping functioning and utilization of B vitamins. Iodine is necessary for proper functioning of the thyroid gland that also stimulates hair growth. Your diet must also contain adequate quantities of vegetables and fresh fruits that provide the body with enormous supplies of minerals, vitamins, and enzymes to tone up your general state of health and optimize hair growth.
Other than diets, hair care and regular conditioning are extremely important for maintaining healthy hair growth. Conditioners should be applied weekly or bi-weekly and only professional products should be used.
Avoid using hard water and excessive chemical cosmetics. Thermal and Ultraviolet protectors are good for your hair.
About hair care, it is important that you message your scalp regularly to promote oil secretion and improve blood circulation. This gives your hair solid grounding in the scalp. Avoid drying hair with hot air, brushing wet hair, combing dry hair, and rubbing hair vigorously with towel. If your hair gets into too much tangles and knots, go for a trimming to manage your hair better.

Set the Evenings on Fire with Fascinating Long Evening Hairstyles

Evenings have a charm of their own. As the sun settles over a hectic day, it's time to unwind, in a party, or in a prom, or in a very personal engagement. It's time to let imaginations run riot over the right dress, the right hairstyle, and the right accessories to steal the show. Your long, beautifully flowing hair can add a ravishing touch to your glam, and make you grab the entire focus in the evening turnout. All that your hair needs besides the usual care and nourishment is a head-turning hairstyling for that captivating aura. And, you can simply weave wonders with your long hair.
The first thing about hairstyling is marking your time. You may want glorious long tresses, but you'd definitely not want to be late for that appointment. So, keep some time at your disposal. You must also have your long hair washed clean and moisturized to look perfectly healthy.
Multiple ponytails can be quite interesting to start with. You need to get some brush, elastic bands, hair shine or hair spray. Divide your hair in the crown area into three parts and place them in three separate ponytails, with most of your hair left loose and flowing on the neck. Make sure you smoothen the frizz for a slicker look. If you want, you can diversify and put the three ponytails into one big ponytail and add some ribbon. For the sporty look, you can try to create as many ponytails as you like using multi-colored bands.
There can be other fascinating styles with the ponytail. Just pulling the hair into a low ponytail on the nape of the neck is one of the most beautiful ways of wearing long hair that exists. You can also try pulling the top layer of hair into a ponytail at the back of the head and leaving the rest loose. This style ‘cuts the cheeks' of round face shapes and make them look all the more lovely.
Then there are the fabulous braids to give you the most electrifying, yet simple, hairstyles. Divide your hair into multiple strands and braid each one thinly, making sure you tie it up with an all-black elastic band for a more formal look or multi-colored bands for the more carefree look. You can use jeweled barrettes, or the butterfly designed ones for a touch of sophistication to your long evening hairstyle. Pin your hair on the side or get two sides of your hair and then pin them down in the middle of the crown using the barrettes. Let most of your hair flow at your back, and do not forget to brush them properly for that lustrous, shiny look.
Placing your hair on a high ponytail, just resting over the middle of the crown, can give you a regal look, and this works well for casual or very formal events in the evening. The trick is in the type of elastic used. You can even put your hair in ponytails and leave some curled strands on both sides to create a romantic look.
Another lovely and elegant way of wearing long hair for the evening is the classic bun style, pulled up onto the head and twisted around, and then pinned in place. You can also go for the braided bun, where the hair is braided and the braid is then coiled into a bun. There are two main styles in this category, the rounded bun with the start of the braid resting against the back of the head and wrapping the rest of the braid around it and placing the end under, or the flat coil bun starting with the end of the braid and coiling it around itself, holding it flat all the way. Just avoid making them heavy, and you're ready for the evening extravaganza.

Do You Really Need to Change Your Hairstyle?

The answer may be yes, the answer may be no! But, then, how do you know? There's a simple solution. If your charm still continues to cast its spell on your near and dear ones, probably your hairstyle is working perfectly on you. But, again, you may have some other reasons. You may want to give yourself a completely new look, either to get the gorgeous look of your favorite celebrity, or try a contemporary style that is rocking the glamour world. In fact, the need to change hairstyle can be myriad.
The crowning part of your beauty and personality is your hair. Your hair is like you, unique and inimitable. So, there can't be any laid-down formula for the most perfect hairstyle for anybody. Hairstyle always has to be exclusive. Two faces can never look equally appealing with similar hairstyle. There are a lot of factors, like hair shape, hair texture, hair color, hair oiliness, and hair volume that decide the hairstyle that can go best on you. Moreover, things like the shape of your face and body, the occasion you are going to attend, the dress and ornaments that you are going to wear, and similar other things also considerably modulate your hairstyle.
So, how do you choose your hairstyle? Obviously, the first thing is, you have to look beautiful sporting that style. All styles do not go well with everybody. You may love and yearn for those awesome curls on your favorite actress, but when you really get them, you may not find yourself looking all that appealing. The best tip here is to try and see. There are some general thumb rules, like a curly or wavy hairstyle goes best with a face having a square jaw and braw, a shoulder-length bob-cut can cut the cheeks in a round face and make it look slimmer and longer, braids, knots and other elaborate styles suit the long hair more, or finger combing works best on short, wiry or curly hair giving it volume and shape.
Choices for you are many. You may want to get those subtle highlights that add a sun-kissed sparkle to your tresses. Having black hair is a boon, but it can make you look mature. So, you may consider adding a shade of red or brown to provide contrast, and also to make you look young. Do consider your skin tone when choosing the right color for your hair. Tell your hairstylist what you want or do it yourself. See how you look and listen to what your admirers say. Whether it's good or not so good, changing hairstyles create a new aura and present you in different styles, keeping you always at the centre of attraction.
Are hairstyles only for women? The answer, obviously, is an emphatic NO. Hairstyles are also an integral part of a man's beauty, personality, status and charisma. It's hard to imagine a George Bush or a Bill Gates in a ponytail! You might think that finding a good hairstyle for men is like searching for a needle in a haystack, considering that men are stereotyped to having that crew cut from birth to death. This is absolutely wrong. You can have the classic men's cut and still be in style, especially if you are in a ‘heavy' profession like a lawyer or a bureaucrat who wants to have that respect-me look. You can even go for that Caesar cut, the typical short-and-bangs style that can give you that youthful look. You can use gel to tame the bangs if you want to looks serious. Then, for the hip-hop type, you can try the spiked look that is a favorite among the young men who want to have a fusion of the respectable and the flirty in their looks. In fact, the choices are innumerable.

How To Maintain Your Mane

There is nothing like a messy, mangy mane to ruin your put together image, so it’s important that you spend time taming your tresses. Mane maintenance doesn’t have to be difficult, just follow these simple tips and tricks to get a gorgeous head of hair.
Determine your hair type
In order to pick the right products to keep your hair in tip- top shape, you need to figure out your hair’s needs. Oily, dry, and normal hair, all need different products so keep this in mind when you shop.
Oily: Look for shampoos that clean thoroughly but are still gentle; ingredients like peppermint and sage are good choices. A clear shampoo will have much more degreasing power than a thick, creamy one, and volumizing formulas will help lift limp, fine hair at the roots. Try using light conditioners that won’t weigh down your hair and use on the ends only.
Dry: Dry hair needs gentle care, so look for shampoos that are thick and moisturizing. Conditioning is crucial, so get a formula that is specially made for dry hair. Tip: after shampooing, work conditioner through the hair concentrating on the ends and leave on in the shower while you soap up. This will allow the conditioning benefits to soften your hair, leaving it silky soft.
Color treated: Colored hair needs special attention, so look for formulas that are designed for colored hair – these will help your color last longer and won’t dry out your locks.
Moisture, moisture, moisture
Regardless of hair type your hair still needs moisture to remain healthy and soft. Once a week indulge in a deep conditioning treatment; slather it on and wrap hair in a fluffy towel. The heat created will help the conditioner penetrate your hair. If your hair is fine or oily, try conditioning your hair before you shampoo to avoid product overload. Look for products that contain humectants; these are ingredients that attract moisture.
Protein Boost
Protein is crucial for maintaining your hair’s strength, so look for products that contain amino acids. A few times a week, try swapping out your regular shampoo and conditioner for one with protein - this will improve your hair’s elasticity and help prevent breakage.
Keep Color Vibrant
The main concern with color treated hair is loss of color and vibrancy. A good regime of gentle shampoos and moisturizing conditioners will help hair remain bright. Invest in a shampoo that deposits color pigments; use this to boost your color a few times a week.
De-gunk
Product build up can make your color dull, weigh down your strands, and leave your hair looking lackluster. Deep cleaning shampoos will help remove all the excess and leave your hair squeaky clean. Use one at least once a month.

Boston Breast Enhancement Reveals the Improved You

Your bundle of joy has arrived, and you are so happy about your new addition. The next child comes and you feel just as thrilled, but you are starting to notice the effects of the babies on your body: a little sag here, a little flab there.
With each child, a little more damage is done. After the second or third child, your skin has reached its limit and shows stretch marks, your breasts may have become a bit larger and now seem droopy. They could use some work to tighten and lift them to where they used to be.
Your tummy is in need of tightening because the belly changes have left their mark around your middle. Exercising is a great way to loose the weight you have gained from the pregnancies, but it will not help with the loose skin left behind. If this sounds like your body, you might consider a few plastic surgery options to help.
First, your breasts need work. This may mean a Boston breast enhancement procedure. The augmentation and lift will give you the beautiful breasts you have always wanted. They will be perky and beautifully shaped and can be made any size you would like.
The surgery runs about two hours depending on the amount of work to be done and is well worth it when you see the final results. Once the procedure is complete and the anesthesia has worn off, you can go home and relax in your own room.
There is no need to stay in a hospital for any significant length of time. This means that you can have the operation while someone watches your baby and you can quickly recover. You may want to make sure you have some full time help with the baby while you recover completely.
You do not need to wait for years for the right time to have the procedures done. You can have work the surgery into any schedule. Also, you will be the hottest mom on the block and at the baby play dates.
The tummy is the other body area that usually needs help after the baby is born. The most popular procedure to give the stomach a firm tight look is a tummy tuck. All of the excess fat and skin is removed and what is left is a shapely and smooth stomach you will want to show off.
The tummy tuck will also help repair the stomach muscles damaged during pregnancy. The surgery takes about two to five hours depending on the extent of damage. As with the breast augmentation and lift, you can go home within a few hours of the surgery. It will take a few weeks to heal and you are somewhat limited with activity but the sleek new look you have will make it all worth while.
After having children, you may consider having a mommy makeover with a breast lift, breast augmentation, and tummy tuck from your plastic surgeon. You will be more confident with yourself and will enjoy fitting back into smaller clothing faster than thought you would be able to.

Botox San Antonio for Better You

If you want to improve your looks, there are a number of ways to do it without plastic surgery. These methods are known as "non-surgical injectables," and thousands of people use them every year to clean up blemishes, erase wrinkles, and feel better about their appearance and themselves. There are three options most people choose from.
Botox involves a series of injections that relax the muscles which cause wrinkles in your face. With less muscle contraction, you will have fewer wrinkles. At this point, Botox is one of the most trusted non-surgical cosmetic surgery methods.
There are a variety of benefits to Botox injections. First, you can be in and out of the doctor's office in no time. The procedure usually takes as little as 30 minutes. There is very little pain involved in Botox treatments. Usually there is some slight discomfort. Sometimes a topical anesthetic is used. The most appealing aspect of this procedure is that it leaves no scars. Finally, results are visible in just a few short days.
Let’s be honest. Every procedure has drawbacks. For example, if you don't keep going for Botox shots, the wrinkles will come back in as little as four months. You also have to continue your Botox treatments indefinitely to see results. Possible side effects include temporarily drooping eyelids and nausea. In some rare cases patients have allergic reactions.
Chemical Peels are treatments where chemicals are applied to your face and removed. The purpose is to take off the uppermost fine layers of skin that contain blemishes. There are several types of chemicals for different types of cases.
Some people don’t like injections. Instead, they consider the benefits of chemical peels. Different varieties of this treatment can be used for different conditions, including acne, aging, rough or dry skin, uneven pigmentation, growths due to cancer, and more.
Depending on the depth of the peel, the procedure can take as little as 15 minutes. The chemical peel is a long-lasting treatment, depending on your situation. For many, no further treatment is needed after the initial peels are done.
Some drawbacks of having a chemical peel include an increase in the number of treatments you need. The more peels you get, the more you will need to have them to keep your skin the way you want.
The chemicals must be handled carefully, especially phenol which carries a slight risk of heart problems, and peels could permanently remove facial freckles.
There is also a healing period and your skin will need to adjust to the chemical treatment over time. While the healing period is quick, with phenol peels, healing may take up to several months.
Before you commit to this treatment, though, make sure that the cosmetic surgeon performing the operation is a qualified surgeon. There have been cases of people offering chemical peels as some kind of miracle cure, and in many states it is legal for a non-licensed individual to do chemical peels.
Yet another option is dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are injections of various natural hormones that augment lips, remove acne, fill wrinkles, and have a variety of other effects. This is the newest method, and the market is now flooded with different products promising different results.
Dermal fillers are still relatively new, but they do have noticeable benefits. There is a wide variety of dermal fillers on the market, designed to treat virtually everything. Dermal fillers are much more natural than other cosmetic surgery options. Some dermal fillers last up to five years, but others (such as Collagen) last for under six months.
There are drawbacks you should know about when considering dermal fillers. For one thing, they are still quite expensive.
There are so many filler options, it can be difficult to decide which is best. Among the most popular are Collagen and Restylane. It is very important to talk to your doctor for his or her expert advice before deciding on a dermal filler.

Liposuction Result Satisfaction!

What Are the Most Common Reasons for Patient Dissatisfaction?
Less than desired results are a common complaint among patients who have had liposuction on multiple areas on the same day. This is because there is a limit to how much fat can be removed safely at one time. Surgeons who attempt to treat too many body areas on a single day are obliged to remove less fat from each individual area. Therefore, it is best to limit liposuction to one or two body areas during the same surgery.
Skin irregularities or lack of smoothness can be a complaint. Smooth results that look natural are of great importance. Cannulas (the metal wands that are used to suction fat from beneath the skin) that have a relatively large diameter tend to produce results with more irregularities than do smaller cannulas. Smooth results also depend on patient’s skin elasticity, the body area, and how meticulously patients massage the suctioned area following surgery.

How Doctors Fix Bad Hair Transplants

The Old Way of Hair Transplantation
When hair transplantation first came onto the scene, men and women with thinning hair or bald scalps (who had been hiding under their hats and scarves for years) finally had some hope. Those who could afford this “new” technology ran to the first doctor who claimed they could cure their baldness.
Unfortunately, the technology, which seemed advanced for the time, could often result in pluggy, unnatural looking hairlines. For many who had these “baby doll” transplants, the results were both cosmetically and psychologically disastrous.
Older methods of hair transplantation included punching out circles of hair-bearing scalp that were then moved to the balding areas. Practices such as scalp reductions (literally cutting out the balding areas of scalp and raising the two sides of hair-bearing scalp toward the center) often left long visible scars. For a time, there was also the method of planting synthetic hair directly into the scalp and then surgically sewing it beneath the skin, a procedure that is now illegal in the United States. This latter was a short lived experiment which caused the hair to be rejected and the scalp to be severely scarred.
Problems with the Surgical Procedure
The older surgical procedures presented numerous cosmetic problems, the most common of which were the large, unnatural look of plug-grafts. These punch graft techniques of hair transplantation also tended to leave circular scars throughout the donor area (the donor area is the area of scalp where the hair is harvested from for the transplant). Other problems included poor hair direction, inconsistent hair growth, and a generally unnatural look to the hair restoration procedure. In many cases the results were so bad that patients were left wishing they were bald again.
From Old to New
With the introduction of today’s state-of-the-art techniques there are now ways of not only restoring hair in a natural way, but also of repairing and redesigning the results of the older techniques. Procedures such as Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation (FUT) are able to address the issue of transplanting hair without the consequence of unsightly scarring.
Undoing the Damage
Reversing the unnatural appearance of the older plugs and repairing scars is obviously more involved than using the right technique in the first place, but it can be accomplished in most cases with excellent results. Addressing the repair of existing scars requires finesse and careful assessment of the problem area as well as the remaining donor supply. Choosing the correct restorative technique is critical as the wrong strategy can make the situation worse.
Different techniques must be used to resolve different problems. Large plugs can be removed, divided microscopically into individually follicular units and placed back into the scalp in a pattern which is much more natural in appearance. Smaller grafts can be camouflaged. Scars that are raised can often be helped with cortisone injections. These can help to decrease the inflammation which is often present in a raised scar. Sometimes excessive scar tissue can also be excised and removed in itself, particularly when associated with poorly positioned grafts of hair.
The Proper Way to Transplant Hair
A lot of improvements in scientific techniques, medical developments and methods of artistic design have been made since hair transplantation was first introduced. Today’s hair transplant techniques can mimic the way hair grows in nature. The most important advancement is the identification of naturally occurring tiny bundles of hair called “follicular units.” This discovery has been fundamental to the major advances in literally all of the surgical hair restoration procedures used today. These methods not only enable the physician to produce results that mimic nature but provide the hair restoration surgeon with the tools to actually fix the problems of old unsightly grafts and scars. The number of people who will benefit from hair transplant repair techniques will continue to grow over time as more people become aware that the older procedures can actually be corrected.
With the introduction of Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation (FUT), a technique that transplants hair in its naturally occurring groups of follicular units, patients are able to have much more predictably natural results. The technique, however, requires substantial knowledge and skill and is performed well by only a limited number of physicians. Thorough research is important in picking the best physician for the job. The decision to have this or any cosmetic procedure should never be rushed. Hair transplantation has changed dramatically since the first cases were performed. We have now gone beyond the “Wild West” days of the old hair plugs and there is new hope for people who have been harmed by bad hair transplants. Most importantly, with adequate research in finding the proper surgeon, now there is a much better chance to get it right the first time around.

Tips to Get a Head of Curls

Curling implements have been used for many years by all those who have straight or fine hair. Although styles have fluctuated between straight and curly hair, generally women with straight have covert curls and women with curly hair desire a straight mane. Curling irons, curlers and other methods to create a wave to hair have been around a lot longer than its counterpart of straightening irons. Curls can be achieved temporarily through the use of steam or heated curlers, heated curling irons or you can get a longer lasting curly head by getting a permanent; referred to commonly as a perm.
Perms, as its name implies, are permanent since the chemicals used in the process change the bonds of your hair. You have to wait for new hair growth to go back to your regular texture. Choose wisely before you commit to this procedure and remember chemicals will, to some degree, damage your hair. I strongly recommend you go to a reputable salon for this instead of trying a do-it-yourself product. Remember after a perm if you are looking to have an up-do for special occasion that may require straight hair, it is going to be very difficult and time consuming. The good thing is though that you will have care free wavy or curly hair that is wash and go, cutting down on grooming time if you normally curled it everyday.
Hair curlers I find are probably the next easiest method to get the head of curls you desire. This entails applying curlers to your entire head or parts you want curled and leave in for desired time. Use smaller rollers on shorter hair and the larger ones on medium to long hair. Take them out and you are done. Best way to keep the curls all day is to lightly spray with holding product while curlers are still in and just gently finger comb.
Curling irons give to better control over where and how much curl you want. Also, if you are looking to keep up with the trends like crimping or spiral curls or the newer fancy styles you can get a special attachment. You can also get several different types of curling irons. From the older, most commonly used chrome-plated irons to gold-plated ones and of course the newest technology, ceramic. If you occasionally curl your hair the chrome plated ones should be fine. But if you have thick or coarse hair you may prefer the gold-plated ones as they can achieve a higher temperature. But I recommend you go with the new ceramic curling irons. They are now fairly reasonably priced and are far less damaging to your hair. The ceramic heats up more evenly and is gentler to your hair by helping preserve the natural moisture. It also results in shinier hair as it tends to glide through better.
Some things to look for in curling irons
Buy a curling iron with a power cord that rotates. You will not get all tangled up and your task will go much quicker.
Curling irons with rechargeable battery are great not just for travel but at home.
Look for a curling iron with a protective case that is heat resistant. I find this a great place to put my iron right after I am done even if it is still hot and I do not have to worry about my kids or me touching it.
If you have medium to long hair with bangs, purchase a curler with at least 2 different size attachments. Use the smaller barrel for shorter hair and the larger one for back and sides. With just a small curling barrel it will take you forever. Tips
If you get a perm you must keep you hair well moisturized. Use a conditioner every time you shampoo and even a leave-in condition is a good idea since curly hair tends to be dry. Use a deep conditioner or conditioning mask at least once a week.
Always use curling irons on dry and clean hair. The hot curling iron on damp hair opens the cuticle and damages the cortex.
Hold curling iron for about 10 seconds or as recommended and gently remove. Do not comb hair after but just use your fingers to loosen.
A natural way to get a head of soft waves is to braid your hair when wet and let it fully dry that way. Or you can braid your hair when dry and just leave the braids overnight. Undo braids and gently comb with your fingers and presto - gorgeous waves.
