Disguise Double Chin

Double chin is an enemy which can invade you, no matter whether you are fat or thin. Just like a fat person might grow double chin so can a person who suddenly loses a lot of weight. But every type of person is prone to double chin. Double chin might damage your entire appearance, no matter how good you look otherwise. And so even though it might appear like a next to impossible task, don't lose hope. There is a solution to every problem especially in this age of fashion. So even if you don't go in for a plastic surgery you can disguise double chin, if not remove it. You can always create the impression of a perfectly slim and normal neck and chin.

There are a few very efficient "tricks" to create the illusion to enable you to disguise double chin. Firstly, remember that your hair is a very crucial element which helps you divert people's attention off your chin. And that is just what you need to do! For achieving this try cutting your hair short, preferably in layers. The layers will take attention off your neck to your hair which is above your neck (thanks to your hair cut!). You can also opt for some hair style which keeps your hair high on your head thus lending the impression of a slim and long neck.

The next trick concerns your make up. Try to highlight your cheek and eyes while putting the make-up. These again work on the same principle of drawing the eyes to a higher level than your neck and therefore help you disguise double chin. The eye make-up needs to be done pretty efficiently. This demands your eyebrows to be well shaped and maintained, use natural shade eye shadow, and adopt a non-dramatic style of applying eye liner. And to complete the make-up apply generous coatings of mascara onto your eyelashes.

But if you decide to highlight your cheek then go ahead and make them the center of attraction but be careful not to highlight your eyes in that case. If you highlight your cheeks then only apply mascara onto your lashes, nothing more. Apply bronzer powder under the chin, along the jaw line. Use light shades. It has a shadowy effect and makes your chin appear slimmer. Use a bit of bronzer on your temples as well as your nose.

Your dress also is very important when it comes to hiding your double chin. Invest in tops that are not high or semi-high necked. Instead go for tops that end way below your neck so that the attention is not concentrated onto your neck9and therefore chin) region. You might try V-necked or deep U-shaped tops. High turtleneck is also a good option.

Next comes your accessories. Avoid earrings that end near your double chin. Tight chokers and scarves are also a strict no-no. But you might wear the scarf away from your neck, earrings that don't hang and neck pieces that don't rest near your chin.

What Do You Do About a Double Chin

Have you ever looked at yourself in a photograph and wondered where that flabby thing under your chin came from? When did it attach yourself to your otherwise attractive face and make people remark on how you've gained weight? Yes, it happens to every one! Even those skinny models you see on the glossy pages of beauty magazines almost always end up trying to hide their double-chins with turtleneck sweaters or funky necklaces. So, what do you do about a double chin? Of course, one begins with the initial step: trying to wish it away; but when that doesn't work (and it never will!), here are a few tips to help you return to the sharp and lean face you once recognized as your own.

The thing about a double chin is it isn't as easy to get rid of as fat from say, your thighs or tummy. And it can get pretty frustrating for someone who successfully manages to lose 20 kgs from his legs and yet finds that annoying skin still hanging there below his jaw. The reasons for your double chin may be genetic, i.e. if any of your ancestors sport a beard to hide his double-chin, chances are you might end up having to adopt the same style statement too! Of course, one can get double-chins even without having it in their genes. If you overeat regularly or if your facial muscles loosen up excessively, you could fall prey to the double-chin plague too!

Which brings again to the question: what do you do about a double chin? Well, to start off you need to tackle it as a separate problem altogether. Your bench-presses and jogging will not help in getting rid of this little piece of skin. You need to exercise your platysma muscle, which is the muscle basically responsible for your ability to move your jaws, mouth and neck. This muscle begins from below your chin and stretches down to your neck. And the most effective way of exercising this is by doing "platysma-stretches"!

Variations of the same basic stretch will help in re-tightening the muscle and preventing premature double-chins: Tighten your jaws as you outstretch your mouth and let it hang. Without moving your head or neck, try pulling your mouth towards yourself, as if you're trying to touch your neck with your lower jaw. Hold it for about five seconds and slowly shut your mouth again. Repeat this exercise and its variants as suits you about ten times on alternate days or at least, three to five times a week.

Chewing gum (make sure it's sugar-free if you're diabetic) and doing neck rotation exercises too should help. Find out what works best for you and make sure you follow the exercise routing regularly. Eat healthy and avoid binging at dinner parties! Of course, as you get older, you eventually will get a double chin. But, if you follow these tips, by the time you do get one: you shall be a cute old grandparent and it shall suit you! Till then, you finally know the answer to: "what do you do about a double chin!"

An Examination of Bare Essentials Makeup

Bare Essentials makeup is probably the fastest growing brand of makeup in the country. From TV ad sales to full counters in department stores nationwide, the company has really boomed. However, is it as effective as they claim?

Keep reading for a helpful review of Bare Essentials.

Price

The Bare Minerals Getting Started Kit typically retails for between $70 and $100, depending on where you purchase it and any deals or specials. Usually, the best bargains can be found not in retail stores, but on television or through the Bare Minerals website.

The price is a little high, but consumers get five products and some great brushes, which are actually fairly good quality and make this kit a great value. For those on a budget or who simply want to test drive the product, the company offers a smaller sample kit at $60.00.

How Easy is it to Use?

It's important to know exactly how to apply your Bare Essentials makeup. Unlike regular cream or chemical-based makeup, it's a much different approach and won't look good if not applied properly. After buying the product, I tried applying it before I watched the enclosed tutorial DVD. The results weren't good.

After watching the DVD, I opted to drop by a local department store with a Bare Essentials counter. The salesperson gave me a full tutorial on how to apply the makeup and store it. The results? Seamless.

In short, it's not easy to use if you just rip open the box and dive right in. But if you take an hour to learn how to apply the product and try it out a few times, you'll get it. In the end, applying every step of the Bare Minerals package takes between 5 and 10 minutes.

Quality of the Product

When it's applied correctly, the Bare Minerals collection looks very appealing. It doesn't cake, crease or melt. The finish is smooth and never looks like it's overdone. Also, because it's a mineral-based product, it's actually good for your skin.

Most women will want to go easy on the bronzer powder, as it's a little overpowering. Also, while the foundation and base kits are great, the eye makeup and lip powders could probably be skipped. Many will find them hard to use and not as effective or easy to control as other makeup products.

That said, if you want a foundation that's light, but provides full coverage, then Bare Essentials makeup is probably a great buy.

Shopping For Color

When it comes to shopping for clothes do you know which colours suit you best or is it all a bit hit and miss? As an image consultant, I find that initially most of my clients have colours in their wardrobes that work really well for them and colours that just don't do them justice. Usually the items that they feel most comfortable in are those that really suit their colouring. Often the items they feel are mistakes and seldom wear are just wrong in colour, making them look older, tired or drained. Once they get their colours analysed all this changes, they know exactly what to look for to get it right every time.

There are many pitfalls that are easy to fall into when choosing colour. Some people fall in love with a colour in a shop window or on a hanger but they don't know if it's a good colour for their own colouring. Usually, when you choose a colour that you love but which doesn't look balanced with your own colouring your friends will say, "I love your top!" It's the top they notice, not you. But when you wear a colour that really brings out the best in you, you'll get a different kind of compliment. Even strangers will remark "Wow, you look fantastic!" People you haven't seen for years will tell you how young and healthy you look. If this all sounds a little far-fetched be assured that at one time I was sceptical too! I was practically dragged along for my first colour analysis but as I started to wear the right colours, I got these sorts of compliments. Week by week my clients report back to me, "It's working, what you said would happen is happening - I'm getting lots more compliments!"

Another pitfall to avoid is shopping with friends. Shopping with friends can be great fun but remember your friend (or even a friendly shop assistant) is not an unbiased image consultant trained in colour analysis. So when trying things on with friends you might say, "Does this look okay?" and your friend replies, "Yeah, great." It's not that your friend means to be dishonest! The colour may be one of her favourites so she instantly likes it even though it may be doing nothing for you. Or she might be unsure but doesn't want to hurt your feelings or knock your confidence.

Choosing colours in badly lit fitting rooms is another way people can easily get it wrong. Artificial lighting can drastically change how a colour looks on you and while you may feel comfortable in the changing room, the colour may no longer be as flattering once you get into the daylight.

So how can you be sure of choosing great colours every time? The easiest way is to visit an image consultant for a colour analysis. They will show you, in natural daylight, how the wrong colours can put in shadows, making you look tired, older, drained and even ill. But more importantly, they'll show you what is special about your own colouring and how to use colours that balance it so that the light reflects back onto your face making you look younger, fitter and healthier. They will also show you how to mix and match your colours easily to make your wardrobe more versatile. After a colour analysis, people often find that they end up with fewer clothes but more combinations to wear. Everyone can wear a wide range of colours but getting the depth, tone and brightness right for your own colouring can make a world of difference to how you look and feel.

At a colour analysis you will usually receive a wallet of fabric swatches that will make your shopping much easier. You'll save time on your shopping as you can quickly avoid the wrong colours and go straight for the colours you know will work. And you'll save money as you'll no longer buy items that you just don't wear.

Original and Edgy Hairstyles For Teens

No other age group is more fickle than teens, especially when it comes to hairstyles! It seems as if they have to have the latest fashion, CD or any other hot pop culture item from week to week and hairstyles are just as changeable. There are many things that teens can do to have what they need on hand to keep their hairstyles hot and irresistible.

The best kind of hairstyle any teen should consider is one that doesn't limit their styling options too much. Because hairstyle fads can change so frequently, any teen is going to want to make sure that their hair is going to be flexible.

When deciding on a new teen hairstyle, consider the activity level of the teen. An active teen is going to want a hairstyle that doesn't take a lot of work and maintenance as well as flexibility regardless of weather conditions. Less active or teens who like to have time to spend on their appearance may find that they can be a bit more risky or cutting-edge when selecting a new hairstyle.

There are two hairstyles that can be changed and reinvented over and over again that any teen can wear to look amazing. Short, layered hair can be worn smooth, spiked or with all kinds of a accessories for a truly original look. Teens who have professional highlights or streaks find that this hairstyle really brings their hair colors out.

The other option is a bob hairstyle. This is a classic that simply hasn't gone out of style and won't anytime soon. Bobs can be worn straight, curly and arranged with all kinds of accessories to be original. With either hairstyle, it is always a good idea to have mousse or gel on hand as well as a good curling iron and hair dryer. You will always have tons of options with the right cut, styling aids and styling tools within reach.
