You can wash your hair in the very natural manner. You should give visits to your stylist after certain period of time.

Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener vs Ordinary Irons

Should you buy a product just because some celebrities use it? The Sedu ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron hair straightener is one of those products. There's a rumor that Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston have used a Sedu.
However, whether or not this rumor is true, the real effectiveness of a Sedu has received many rave reviews by women who have transformed their hair thanks to the Sedu.
The Sedu ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron hair straightener has a number of features that make other flat irons seem ordinary.
Sedu uses tourmaline, a gemstone that when heated generates up to six times more negative ions than ordinary flat irons. Negative ions smoothes the outer layer of the hair making it look shiny. Hair bombarded with negative ions help to eliminate frizz or split ends and makes it more manageable.
With the Sedu, the hair passes between smooth ceramic plates that won't kink or damage hair. The Sedu plates generate infrared heat that penetrates the inner core of each strand of hair so the hair's outer layer won't dry out.
The temperature setting on the Sedu is adjustable to make it safer or easier to straighten any type of hair. If the hair is fragile or damaged, the user can select a safer lower temperature. The temperature can be set higher to make the effort of straightening thick or coarse hair easier.
To top off all these great features, the Sedu warms up fast. It only takes 25 seconds for the Sedu to reach the temperature selected. Ordinary flat irons may take up to 60 seconds to reach the same temperature. Straightening curvy or wavy hair takes less time with a Sedu.
Recapping what we have just said, the Sedu heats up fast, can straighten any hair type, won't damage it and delivers six times more negative ions than ordinary irons making any women's hair shinier and manageable.
So, as you can see the Sedu ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron hair straightener doesn't need the buzz that someone famous is using it. Sedu's effectiveness and customer testimonials are more than enough.

Let Nature Kiss Thy Skin, Be Beautiful Naturally

They say, there’s never a wrong time to do the right thing. Here, we’d say, there’s never a wrong time to do the natural thing. What we mean by this is that your skin’s best care lies in the lap of nature and the natural beauty products. Young or old—you can switch to a natural skin care program anytime you want.
Often people confuse between organic and natural products. While natural and organic skin care products are closely similar, differences do exist. But rest assured, both are better treatments than the everyday beauty products available in the market. It’s because natural beauty products are derived directly from nature, having more natural ingredients to make your skin soft, supple and healthy. When you’re using natural or organic skin care products, you will notice the difference yourself. Therefore, it’s always recommended to go for natural products than those that are doctored in the lab with harsh chemicals or other agents. For instance, beauty oil extracted from a flower would apparently look or smell the same, but the one produced naturally or organically would be more kind on your skin than the regular product. Thereby, your skin stays in health for a longer time.
If you’re wondering if organic skin care products promise the same wide range as that of regular products, here’s a short list of the most popular natural skin care items: body lotions/creams, cleansers, masks, scrubs, peels, body wraps, sunscreens, toners, massage oils, make-up, body shampoo, face serums, make-up removers, anti-aging creams, etc. So you can get almost anything you need to take care of your skin from the natural skin care products range. All botanicals used in the manufacturing of organic products are devoid of chemicals or pesticides.
Natural skin care is rewarding in another way. It has an element of authenticity. All organic products are tested and certified by the United States Department of Agriculture. So all you need to do while buying your beauty products is look out for the USDA Organic seal.

Women and Beauty - The Quest for Beauty, Buying From QVC

"Have you ever notice how you can put your makeup on much faster in the dark?"
Women, being beautiful, or at least something that doesn't scare folks on the street is a daily chore. You know the table overflowing with beauty lotions, creams, scrubs, ointments and rubs. Something for women to put on at night and something to take it off in the morning. Something for the shower, something for after the shower and something for before you put your clothes on. A bewildering array of beauty products designed to enhance you and hopefully lift your spirits.
Well, I learned, with humor, that you can't get everything out of a bottle. So, let me tell you about the night I was watching QVC with my checkbook a little too close at hand.
On my television screen that evening, there was a miraculous beauty product, whose name I have now forgotten, that was designed to reduce visible wrinkles in 20 minutes. Just 20 minutes! (Makes you think about what the invisible wrinkles are about.) I watched with close attention, as a woman with a touch of white in her hair confidently sat upon the high chair as the camera zoomed in for a close up shot. Closer and closer the camera went until finally wrinkles came into view. There they were, little tiny lines radiating from the corners of her eyes.
So saszam, a little dab of the elixir and 20 minutes later, the model's skin looked younger and as radiant as promised. So with the clock ticking away toward the end of this amazing introductory offer, I quickly grappled for the phone and feverishly dialed in.
Like clockwork, A few days latter, the order arrived. I eagerly ripped open the package and dashed upstairs to the my bathroom mirror. I washed my hands and face, clearing away as instructed all accumulated oils and dirt. I put the prerequisite amount of the magic lotion, just as they showed us, on my middle finger and stared deeply into the mirror at my eyes and found... I didn't have any wrinkles!
So, the moral of this story is:
QVC can sell anything to you in the space of 20 minutes.
Even if you don't need it you could still end up buying it, and
Some of us have way too much time on our hands.
So before you reach for the phone and dial in clamoring for your very own bottle, tube, vial, tub, your magic beauty cream, women ask yourself, do commercials make you feel ...withered, dried up, cracked, caked, oily, frizzy, flat, shinny, pealing, with an itchy scalp? If so, do what I now do. Turn off the TV, grab a good book and remember, you are just a cute as you were before the commercial. So,"have you ever notice how you can put your makeup on much faster in the dark?" That is the real key to beauty.

Kissing Your Wrinkles Goodbye

Wrinkles, deep folds and fine lines are signs that we are no longer are as young as we feel. These can be dynamic (appear with facial expression) or static (there all the time). Dynamic wrinkles are caused by muscle activity and become static and deeper with time.
Many of us yearn to look youthful without plastic surgery or having a face frozen by Botox injections. Fortunately, this is possible and easily achieved with a judicious mix of Botox and injectable fillers.
Botox is a purified protein that prevents muscle contraction. Used in large amounts, it can cause a frozen unnatural look. However, judicious use can produce a very natural result as the facial muscles are just weakened & not paralyzed.
Botox for cosmetic use has gone beyond wrinkle relaxation. It is now also used for facial contouring and face lifting. The traditional uses (reduction of frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet) remain the most frequently requested cosmetic procedure in the USA.
Injectable fillers or dermal fillers are used to treat static lines.
Most of the wrinkles and folds that develop in the bottom half of the face are caused by loss of elasticity, atrophy of underlying support structures and the pull of gravity over the years. Things like folds between the nose and the mouth (naso-labial lines); marionette lines running from the mouth to the chin can be improved with dermal fillers.
These are substances, injected under the skin to create volume and smooth out the folds on the surface in procedures known as soft-tissue augmentation. Not only does it plump-up the area being treated, but recent research shows that some of these fillers also stimulate your skin to produce more new collagen and stop the further breakdown of your existing collagen.
Fillers are often used to enhance facial contours too: lip, nose and chin augmentations are popular requests.
There are many types of filler available on the market and the hyaluronic acid fillers are generally the most popular in view of their safety and affordability. Temporary fillers can last for up to a year depending on the location of injection and the type of filler chosen.

Finding Your Best Hairstyle

We see them everywhere; on TV, on magazine covers while we wait in shopping lines, and sometimes,on occasion, on a friend or a stranger. Just seeing a great hairstyle and falling in love with it is only the bare beginnings of creating a whole new you. Before sitting in your stylist's chair and expecting miracles from him or her, let's discuss what you need to take into consideration before those scissors touch a single strand.
First of all, consider your lifestyle. Do you work indoors in an office all day? You can afford to spend the extra time on your look should you desire since there should be nothing working against your hair such as wind or rain. Or are you out in the elements? Perhaps you go to the gym after work and need a style that dries by itself and yet still looks presentable? A precision cut or permanent wave may suit this type as they both would dry stylishly on their own. Longer hair of course should be clipped up in the wind to protect its health as well as its beauty.
Secondly, how much time do you really have to spend in the morning to create your fabulous look on a daily basis. Not how much time you'd like to spend or think you will, yet the harsh reality of how many actual minutes on the ticking clock do you have before you really need to hit the road to work or school? An everyday look should fit into your routine.
Should you only need a few, quick curls, then plugging in the old curling iron every morning will become second nature having it ready for a couple of quick applications. Do you shower in the morning and would rather have a cut that you can just blow dry or flatiron and have it lay right in place? Your style will demand more trips to the salon for trims as any style that has that precision cut to keep it low-maintenance will have to have the style kept "in shape". And this doesn't necessarily mean a short haircut as medium length styles can have blunt lines or textured ends to speed up the styling process having them styled straight or perhaps in a little "flip".
Have a little more time to spend on your do? Perhaps you would like a little more body or curl. Large, loose curls are are the rage now, ranging from gigantic 3-5 vertical curls that are left undisturbed to fall freely during the day to the more time-consuming S-waves. Should you prefer the latter on a regular basis, you should consider a design-wrap perm to lock these defined patterns in and cut your styling time way down. This will be less damaging to your hair in the long run as you won't be applying the direct heat from appliances on a daily basis.
So now you have an idea of time and environment. The next step is the hardest. Your head and facial shapes, as well as your neck structure are all very important things to consider in determining how well you might carry off that cute style you just saw. Unless you are fortunate enough to have a perfect oval face, a well defined jawline, a sleek neck of average length, all of which are well-balanced enabling you to wear short, medium or long styles of any type, you need to face the facts that you probably cannot wear just any hairstyle that you fall in love with.
Brush all your hair back off of your face, clip it or place a headband. What do you see? An oval, a square shape? Heart? Is it oblong? Or Diamond shaped?
Square, Heart and Oblong shapes usually tend to have "high foreheads". These require a part close to the center that allows hair to fall along the temples and covers up the majority of the forehead. Though the best remedy for this situation are bangs, or as they call them abroad, fringe. Bangs cover or break up areas that we would prefer to disguise.
Diamond and Heart shaped faces have very narrow chins and styles that hit about the jawline is best to help "fill in" this weak area. Or a longer style could be worn with layering in this area that may be textured with curls which would also serve the same purpose. However, Square and Oblong shapes have thick, wide jawlines and it's best to draw attention away from this area. These face shapes should not have a hairstyle that widens this area further. Hair should be flat (straight) against the sides of their chins or at least much longer or shorter to draw attention up or down away from the chin or jawline. Remember this can apply to anyone with a double chin or thick throat area as well.
These same rules apply to the top of the face. A short forehead, one who has a hairline that comes down close to the eyebrows, also needs camouflaging. Bangs are an option here. Diamond, Square and Oblong shapes do not want hairstyles that comb back to expose these flaws. It's best to allow hair to fall on the forehead somehow to disguise your less than perfect hairline.
A Diamond or Oblong shaped face needs to be very careful to avoid hairstyles with fullness across the nose and eye level as these styles will only make their face shape appear wider here. Neck length can appear shorter or longer according to your needs, depending on your style and its length. This physical characteristic is often overlooked.
Now to discuss your hair color. Yes, it's something you really need to consider as it can make or break any hairstyle. You can have the best haircut in the world for you, however, if the color is all wrong, it ruins the whole look. For those of you, who already color their hair or are considering it, know these important factors. Black and very dark shades are not just for the young-at-heart, they are for the younger and younger looking crowd only. These unforgiving colors will only harshen the features of anyone who has found themselves with fine lines and wrinkles. Very fair, porcelain skin should steer clear of very light shades as this usually washes them out.
Determine if you are a warm or a cool color person. Yes, it's something else to think about, yet it is a good thing to know not just for hair color, yet for makeup color and clothing colors as well. While some folks are lucky enough to wear either one, some look only good in one or the other.
Look good in pinks, blues, or violets? These make you a "cool color person". Only look good in warm colors? Then you usually select reds, oranges, or yellows. Green is a neutral shade and some colors steer away from their usual temperature. For example, red can be cool if it has purple undertones like say a burgundy and yet it can be quite warm if it has more of an orange cast to it.
Why is all of this important?
Well, if you are a cool color person, you cannot wear true reds or an auburn hair color unfortunately. Ever see a redhead wearing purple clothes? This is an extreme example, yet I think you get the picture. Likewise if you only look good in warm colors, anything violet, blue or possessing a blue cast would be out of the question.
Yes, there IS a lot to consider when you are talking beauty and fashion. However, once you sift through all the determining factors and find what really works best for you, you'll learn to really spot a great haircut or style that would be perfect for you instantaneously. And shopping for clothes and makeup will become much easier and fun!
Spare yourself the heartache of crying yourself to sleep knowing your hair will take forever to grow out from a bad style. Find a stylist who will really, truly listen and who has this knowledge and then some. ALWAYS take pictures with you when you want to make a hairstyle change. Not only will you know both of you are on the same page about your looks, you will reap the rewards of all your homework and knowledge. And feeling better about yourself can only lead to more confidence and a better outlook on life in general.

Effective Cellulite Solutions

We liken it to orange peel or cottage cheese. Women have it, so do men. Cellulite, also known as dermatomyoliposclerosis, affects the young, the old, the fat, the slim, the gym-sculpted and the couch potato. General estimates say up to 90 per cent of women have it. But can we do anything about cellulite? Cellulite is a disease of the fat level of skin. The fat cells are arranged in chambers surrounded by fibrous bands. When there is a build-up of toxins and poor lymphatic drainage, water retention occurs and cellulite forms. The fibrous bands can contract, resulting in a permanent dimpling of the skin.
Unfortunately, once formed cellulite is hard to dispel with lifestyle changes alone. Many have suggested drinking more water, exercising and eating healthily, but none of these are effective. Even liposuction, often touted as the cure for cellulite, can worsen the situation. Hormonal changes also contribute to cellulite, which partly explains why women are more prone to it, and genes are thought to play a part. Cellulite appears largely on the thighs and bottoms, but can be found on the inner knees, hips, lower abdomen and under the arms.
Advances in Aesthetic Medicine have brought with it a number of effective cures for cellulite:
Mesotherapy improves the circulation, dissolves excess fat deposits and removes hardened fibrous connective tissue. Mesotherapy can dispel cellulite after 6-10 sessions, but mild to moderate cellulite responds as well, if not better, to machine treatments.
Endermologie, the use of suction and rolling technology, physically improves the circulation and expels toxins from the affected areas. The skin tone is improved, and even end stage fibrotic cellulite can be less visible after such treatment.
Ultrasound treatment can melt the fat in the treated areas and therefore reduce the bulging in the affected area. Coupled with lymphatic drainage, toxins can be eliminated for effective cellulite elimination.
Biomesosculpture is the latest in cellulite treatment. This technology stimulates the extra-cellular matrix surrounding our cells to reduce toxin stagnation. The infusion of a luxurious chocolate slimming cream infused with pure plant botanical and homeopathic extracts (ivy, dandelion, juniper) reduces cellulite and fat buildup. MRI studies show the instant inch-loss is due to fat reduction and not just water loss. The slight rise in temperature generated stimulates collagen production, hence stimulates skin firming and rejuvenation.
Of all the treatments listed thus far, Biomesosculpture shows the most promise as it treats cellulite formation at root cause. This detoxifying treatment has immediate, permanent results. With minimal downtime, this treatment is safe enough to use every day. Cumulative inch loss is far greater than surgical fat reduction if sessions can be taken in close succession, with the major advantage of minimal discomfort or disruption of normal activities. Ten sessions are suggested for each area. Results may continue to improve after the treatment course, as the toxins causing the imbalance and stagnation have been eliminated. Biomesosculpture can be used for spot reduction, reducing the appearance of cellulite, lymphatic drainage, buttock lifting, thigh tightening, waist reduction, hip reshaping and stomach rejuvenation. It can also be used for facial rejuvenation and chin/jaw line lift.

How To Thread At Home?

STEP-BY-STEP: THREADING
One of the best methods of upperlip hair removal is threading. Threading removes the tiniest and finest hair right from the root. Here's how you can thread at home.
Getting rid of hair on the upperlip is extremely annoying. If you get it waxed, you need for it to grow a certain length before you can wax it again. If you get it threaded at the parlour, you wait until there is a slight green shadow before visiting the parlour again. Bleach isn't very good for the skin and it leaves the hair lighter but not completely invisible. And hair removal cream doesn't remove the hair from the root, causing hair to grow back thicker.
The best method of hair removal from the upperlip is threading. You don't have to wait for hair to grow a certain length threading removes the tiniest and finest hair right from the root. Tweezing does the same as well, but tweezing is more painful, more time consuming, and tends to leave in-growths.
If you have easy access to a parlour just across your home which charges Rs. 5 for upperlip threading, you can skip this article. But if not, here's how you can remove upperlip hair at home, easily and quickly.
Take around 2 feet (24 inches) of thread length. Make sure you use a good quality, strong thread. There is no special thread for threading, you can use any thread as long as it is strong and doesn't snap easily.
Take both ends and knot them up. You need to have a circle of thread. Although beauticians normally use thread straight from the reel keeping one end in their mouth and holding the other end, you don't need to get so technical especially because you will not be able to thread your own upperlip in this manner.
Now hold the thread with both hands, and wind it around ten times. The wound bit now lies in the center of the circle.
Now, place the thread around the fingers of both hands. Push the wound portion towards one hand by widening the fingers of one hand and simultaneously closing the fingers of the other hand.
Similarly, by opening the fingers of the closed hand and closing the fingers of the other hand, push the wound portion in the other direction.
Keep practicing pushing the wound portion back and forth. Once you are able to push back and forth easily, you can move on to the other step practicing on a body part.
It is best to practice threading on your leg. Most people have a lot of hair on their legs and their legs are easily reachable. They don't have to strain too much to look for hair or to reach it, and they don't have to look in a mirror.
Sitting on your bed or on a chair, prop up one leg and identify the portion from which you want to remove hair. Place the thread on this portion. Let the wound part be one end of the hair, and the thread from the other side should be on both sides of the hair you want to remove. Now, move the wound portion to the other side, making sure that it catches the hair while moving. It will then lift the hair from the root as it moves back and forth.
You will need practice before you can manage. And if you know how to thread your upperlip yourself, you can run thread through it for a couple of minutes every other day so your upperlip is always completely free from hair. No more waiting for the hair to grow back before your next threading or waxing session at the parlour.

Barbara Harrington Shares Her Best Make Up Tips For The Brow - WOW for Brows!

EyeBrows: Creating the Frame of the Eye
The key purpose for eyebrows is to prevent moisture (such as perspiration or rain) from going into the eye. The shape of the eyebrow and the direction which the eyebrow hairs point make sure that this moisture flows sideways around the eye to help protect the eye. Plus, the protruding brow ridge and the eyebrows also help shade the eyes from sunlight.
Eyebrows create a frame for the eye. Our eyebrows are linked to our expressions in amazement, surprise or anger.
So....It is important to discover what the best shape for your eyebrows is without sacrificing their natural appearance.
To create the best shape, and have maximum control, tweezing is best. However, that is not say you can't have your eyebrows waxed, but you lose on the control aspect.
Eyebrows - Basics 101
The beginning of the brow should align with the center of the nostril.
The arch of the brow should fall at the back third of the eye.
The eyebrow should follow the length of the eye but it shouldn't extend into the temple area. The basic rule is that the front part of the brow should never drop below the back part of the brow.
Tips To Thicken Thin Eyebrows:
Eyebrow should begin parallel to inner corner of eye and end just beyond eye.
Eyebrow is fullest at Nose Bridge, gently arches and softly tapers at the end.
Start at the bridge of the nose with EyeBrow; apply color over entire eyebrow area in short hair-like strokes.
Tips for Full Eyebrows::
The beginning of the eyebrow should be in line with inner corner of the eye and end just beyond eye.
Use a feather-touch stroke with brow color to fill in any areas with sparse hair.
Blend with eyebrow brush.
Brow Tips: To Tweeze or Not to Tweeze...That is the question
Most of us need to tweeze (at least a little bit), to allow the brow to suggest a more finished look to the face. Besides the general rule of using a very good tweezer, it's a good idea to go to a reputable eyebrow professional at least once. It's worth the $12.00 to $15.00 to have her decide what's right for your face and establish the line for you. You can take over from there.
The reason for going to a professional is so that you know which hairs you need to tweeze, and which ones to leave alone. Knowing which ones to tweeze really makes all the all the difference in an attractive brow vs. one that isn't.
If you don't do this professionally, try different shapes over your brow first to get the right one for you first. And follow the stenciled shape the best you can.
To help you really see what you are doing, use a good magnifying mirror (at least with 5x magnification).
Go Slow - Check your work.
Your brow should align with the center of the nostril.
Eyebrows should follow the length of the eye, and not extend into the temple area.
Avoid over tweezing!
Don't tweeze a thin line thinking it will make your eyes look larger...because it won't and it wall be not easy to correct.
To make it less painful, tweeze immediately after showering.
By the way, don't tweeze too often. Once or twice a week should suffice, as the idea is to control the new growth so the brows don't lose their shape too quickly.
And Ladies...Please never, Never, NEVER shave or EVER bring a razor near the delicate eye area! Shaving eyebrows can cause skin discolorations and your brows never grow back the same.

Best Product for Shaving Pubic Hair

Finding the best product for shaving pubic hair starts with the disposal of your old razor blade, and ends with the purchase of a new personal shaver;
Personal shavers are by far the safest and most effective method for shaving pubic hair. Perfect for women and men, these amazing little devices will leave your pubic area smoothly shaven without the risk of ever nicking or cutting yourself, even sensitive regions such as the testicles.
Unlike regular razor blades, personal shavers are used on dry skin and hair. This makes pubic hair shaving less messy and more time efficient.
Let us take a look at what makes personal shavers such an effective pubic hair removal tool;
One of the most noticalbe differences between a personal shaver and a regular shaver is its cylindrical shape. This shape enables you to shave even the most awkward regions of you pubic area without ever cutting your self.
Personals shavers have a combination of special rotary blades and a thin foil. This combination ensures that there is no risk of ever cutting your self while getting the smoothest shave possible. These rotary blades are able to remove the most stubborn and curliest pubic hairs in your pubic area with no effort at all.
In order to get the best results out of your personal shaver, always hold it at a slight angle whilst shaving. Keep in mind to move the personal shaver in small circular motions on the area you wish to shave. If you come by any loose skin, simply pull the skin tight with your fingers before shaving that area.
Before purchasing any personal shaver, always do your research to make sure you are purchasing a good quality one. Poor quality personal shavers have a reputation of leaving you with an unsatisfied shaving experience and risk of nicks and cuts.

Anti-Cellulite Creams – Which Ones are Best

Many of us enjoy the benefits of getting older – we are able to spend more time doing the things we love, we have more knowledge and can take advantage of the senior discounts offered at our favorite restaurants and stores. Unfortunately, wrinkly dimpled skin or cellulite normally comes with the package. Nobody likes the unsightly fatty deposits that form around the hips, thighs and buttocks and resemble cottage cheese. However, many anti-cellulite creams that provide a safe, easy way to fight this universal problem.
Before we discuss the products, it helps to understand the process of cellulite - this occurs in 4 stages. The initial stage involves the deterioration of the blood vessels, then the weakening of the dermis which is one of the main layers of the skin. This is followed by the breakdown of collagen and elastin produced in the body and ultimately the breakdown of the connective tissue in the dermis.
Now on to the information you really want to know. What are anti-cellulite creams and how do they work? These products are meant to be rubbed into the skin and assist in draining, firming, hydrating and reconstructing the skin’s tissue. This is meant to reduce the visible dimpling and wrinkling of the skin resulting in a smoother appearance. The list of ingredients used in these creams is too long to list, but many of them contain retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, plant extracts or even caffeine!
Opinions vary greatly as to the actual benefits of these creams so you will need to try them out for yourself. Companies are making a lot of money selling these products because of the high demand. As the focus on looks and beauty increases, so does the number of anti-cellulite creams purchased. Many people are not worried about the cost – they will pay almost anything to get rid of the “orange peel” skin. Companies such as Hydroderm have created a product called Body Shape which specifically targets cellulite.
We may have to face the fact that cellulite is a normal part of aging. That doesn’t mean that we have to give up on fighting it. Start by purchasing an anti-cellulite cream and get ready to face the bathing suit season with renewed enthusiasm!

Dare To Dye Your Lashes

Lots of people have such fair eyelashes that they need to wear mascara all the time, but overuse can cause drying out of the lashes which in turn can cause dryness and possibly consequent fall out. This is why there is such a demand from the clients of beauty salons worldwide for a permanent solution to eyelash color.
So voila - Eyelash Dye.
There are also times when wearing mascara is out of the question. For instance if you are swimming or going to the gym and you still want to look good.
Who wants their eyes to look 'piggy'piggy' (ie small) and you're not going to look your best. Are you?
If you thinking about dyeing your lashes you'll read lots about the dangers of the procedure. Well let me tell you, I've often had it done and guess what? No problems. As long as you go to a good reputable salon you will be OK
What you must never do is try it at home. Why take the chance. It's too near your eyes to take chances If you decide that you really do want to do this at home, possibly because of cost or convenience, please understand that you will almost certainly never get professional results. It's like comparing most things done by a professional. They are usually 150% times better- even something as apparently simple as painting a wall will look better when a professional does it, i.e. streaks, runs, not enough preparation etc etc. etc. - need I go on.
The Advantages of Eyelash Dye
No need to wear mascara Great if you're allergic to mascara. Who doesn't want to wake up in the morning with beautiful dark silky lashes? Fabulous for holidays when you are on the beach and in the sea.
The Disadvantages of Eyelash Dye
Cost, although compares favorably with many other beauty treatments. The inconvenience of going to a salon. It's not permanent and has to be renewed regularly.
Do your own research if you are still worried. All I can say that is you follow all the guidelines you ever read on what to do and what not to do in your life you will never do a thing.

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Procedure Costs and Financing Fees

Plastic surgery is no longer exclusive to the Hollywood elite! Nowadays, people of every walk of life are having cosmetic surgery and the reason for this upsurge in plastic surgery is its affordability. There are several reasons why people now can afford the cost of plastic surgery procedures, including:
1. Availability of Financing for Cosmetic Surgery - In the old days, no financial company would loan money without collateral, especially if it was for cosmetic surgery. Now, some of the major financial institutions are marketing primarily to the plastic surgery crowd. They realize that those with a steady income can make payments for cosmetic surgery, just as if they were making it for a new car. In fact, some loan companies are becoming even more creative. They are willing to give patients a cosmetic surgery home equity loan, with the payments added to patient's monthly mortgage payment.
2. Cost of Cosmetic Surgery - Whether it is because the relative cost of cosmetic surgery procedures has come down or that the price of most other things have gone up, the prices of plastic surgery procedures are now within people's spending budget.
3. Plastic Surgeons Offer Financing - While it used to be that one had to pay cash for plastic surgery, now plastic surgeons accept credit card payments, financing, or even offer cosmetic surgery savings plans.
Most people have a false perception of what cosmetic surgery costs. In fact, most think that they could never afford plastic surgery. Once they realize that getting the body that they always wanted is no more expensive that buying a used car, they are eager to change their life for the better.
Hidden Costs of Plastic Surgery The American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) publishes annual statistics on the cost of different plastic surgery procedures, which are stratified to the region of a specific country. Although this is an approximate price that plastic surgeons charge to perform such procedures, the total cost could widely vary, depending on the cost of the operating room facility, anesthesia, follow-up care, and necessary equipment or garments. Don't be fooled by the seemingly amazing prices that you might see published in throw-away magazines, or from the ads you hear on the radio or watch on TV. They might not have included the overall price.
________________________________________ For example, some competitive national chains that are owned and operated by non-plastic surgeons offer ridiculously low prices, with a small footnote that the cost of anesthesia or operating room fees are extra. Others might advertise attractive prices that fail to mention that your anesthesia is going to be provided by a nurse and not a board certified anesthesiologist. Others even advertise "board certified cosmetic surgeons," when only later you find that your surgeon is a dentist, gynecologist, or even a general practitioner and does not hold board certification in plastic surgery. Please know that there is only one accredited and nationally accepted board of plastic surgery. The so-called "Academy of Cosmetic Surgery" is a non-accredited corporation that offers certificates to any doctor that takes their weekend courses…So don't bargain with your life!
________________________________________Any surgery is a serious endeavor that has costs associated with it, due to the basic expenses of an accredited surgical facility and board certified staff. While it doesn't hurt to get a good price, it is not worth possibly compromising your well-being and health for the sake of the cheapest price.
________________________________________The average total price for some of the common plastic surgery procedures including fees for the plastic surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgery center, implants (if indicated) and follow-up care is noted below. These do not included the cost of pre-operative testing (blood test & EKG), special equipment, implants, garments, or specialty aftercare, and if necessary, the cost of revisions.

The Age Of Cosmetic Surgery – Important Question And Answers

Cosmetic surgery has become one of the most popular means by which to improve one’s appearance and get rid of unwanted characteristics. Whether you are having a nose job or a tummy tuck, there is a procedure that can help. As with any other type of surgery, however, there are risks that you should be aware of before you decide to go under the knife.
Before you will be able to have a cosmetic procedure, you will need to know if you are even a good candidate. While this is not always a crucial detail, it can matter. While it is certainly possible to have such procedures done no matter what age you are, good health and realistic expectations are necessary. Keep in mind that improve, not perfection, is the goal of any cosmetic procedure.
Sometimes the question arises concerning age. While, as stated above, cosmetic surgery can be performed at any age, there are situations where a specific age is preferable. For example, someone under the age of 18 would not be able to obtain a nose job without a parent’s consent.
Another common question is whether or not more than one procedure can be performed at once. The answer is generally yes, but this needs to be discussed in thorough detail with the surgeon. The answer will most likely depend on what types of procedures you wish to have performed, and what parts of your body they will affect. The surgeon may decide to split certain procedures into sections. For example, facial surgeries may be performed at the same time, while surgery on another part of the body may be performed at a later date.
Another main concern is the scarring that will occur after surgery. It is not possible to eliminate them from happening, but it is possible to properly care for them so they will become more difficult to see over time. Surgeons, however, are trained to help hide most, a procedure that is most often successful. It really depends on the type and extent of the surgery. In any case, be sure to take the advice of your surgeon and properly care for yourself after the surgery. This is crucial to the healing process.

If you would like to research ingrown hair picture libraries for images of ingrown hair skin conditions and diagrams of how ingrown hairs form etc. then use the three top resources listed below.
Before going into the top 3, please note this important tip when searching. Simply entering the phrase ingrown hair into a search field will yield thousands of general results. Putting the phrase in quotes will make the search much more specific and greatly reduce the number of results. The figures listed below were accurate at the time of writing:
Resource 1: Google

"ingrown hair": 1,800 images
Google has a specific search engine that focuses on image files. Simply go to: images.google.com

As the ingrown hair picture libraries show, the condition can be slight, with just one or two ingrown hairs or it can be extensive with whole areas of skin irritated by numerous ingrown hairs.
Tweezing is a good option for the occasional ingrown hair but multiple hairs may need the help of special solutions formulated to free the trapped hair under the skin.
Tend Skin is one popular product, and Nisim International's Kalo Ingrown Hair Treatment is also effective. (See resource box) By just rubbing these solutions into the skin regularly each day, ingrown hairs can be cured within a few days and prevented from reappearing.

How to Plan For Your Cosmetic Surgery Recovery

You’ve made the exciting decision to have cosmetic surgery. You’ve selected a cosmetic surgeon who is highly experienced and qualified in the procedure you are going to have and now you’re ready to schedule the big event. What should you do next to make sure your experience is as comfortable and easy as possible? Begin planning for your recovery.
As with any surgery, cosmetic surgery procedures usually require a recovery period of a few days to a few weeks. If you can efficiently plan for this time in advance, it will help make your recovery as worry free and pain free as possible. You can do this by following the steps provided below:
1. Schedule your surgery for a Friday. This will give you an extra two days of recovery before you have to go back to work.
2. Buy at least two weeks worth of groceries and other necessities before your scheduled surgery. The less reasons you have to leave the house while recovering from surgery, the easier your recovery will be. You don’t need the added stress of running errands or moving about in any way. If you are going to have a surgery that requires you to eat soft foods, make sure your grocery list reflects that.
3. Pre-cook meals for yourself and/or your family. If you do not have someone who will be helping cook meals for you or your family, it is a good idea to do this in advance. Then, all you have to do is defrost and heat up your meals.
4. Prepare your bedroom or another comfortable area of your home to be your ideal recovery spot. Whatever your recovery entails (elevating and icing a body part, sleeping in a particular position, etc.) you should set up your recovery area in advance and make sure everything you need is within your reach.
5. Fill your surgery-related prescriptions in advance. You will likely need to take pain medications and/or antibiotics during your recovery. Your surgeon will prescribe these to you in advance and you should fill them at your local pharmacy before your surgery.
6. Plan your transportation to and from the surgery. You will need a friend or loved one to drive you to and from your appointment. Make all the necessary arrangements for this well in advance and avoid unnecessary stress.
7. Decide what you will tell friends and family if you’re not planning on telling them about the surgery. For some patients, cosmetic surgery is a very private decision. If you do not want to tell friends, coworkers or other family members the specifics surrounding your surgery, you can tell them you are having a reconstructive surgery or going on vacation.
8. Ask a friend or family member to stay with you overnight on the day of your surgery. On the very first night following your surgery, you may not be able to easily take care of yourself. For this reason, you should ask someone to stay with you to help prepare ice packs and meals and ensure you take your medications at the appropriate times. If there isn’t anyone available to do this, you can hire a nursing agency for approximately $300 to $500 per day.

Guide to Cold Laser Therapy and Its Many Health Benefits

Cold laser therapy, or low level laser therapy, is a treatment in which a cold laser is used to treat acute and chronic pain. It is also called a "soft laser." If you suffer from back pain, joint pain, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, neuropathy, neck pain, or other related health conditions, cold laser therapy might be a viable solution for you. How it Works Cold laser therapy works by increasing the levels of serotonin to help your body heal itself. The therapy is noninvasive and non-thermal. The cold laser was derived from phototherapy, a light healing method developed more than 30 years ago. In phototherapy, a special type of light penetrates the surface of the skin as well as underlying tissues to stimulate natural healing in the body. The low level laser light used in cold laser therapy is actually the compressed light of a wavelength from the red part of the light spectrum, or the cold part. During the cold laser process, the body's cells are exposed to photon energy, which in turn increases the cells' metabolism, helps to develop muscle tissue and collagen, improves blood circulation, stimulates tissue repair and the healing of wounds, and stimulates the nervous and immune systems. Cold lasers are also used in acupuncture to stimulate the acupoints of the body without using needles. Types of Cold Laser Treatments There are several types of cold laser treatments such as the Q1000 Laser, 660 Probe, 808 Probe, Q1000 Propack, and the Q10 Laser. The Q1000 Laser features nine different wavelengths meant to help cells for nerves, muscles, bone, ligaments, skin and tendons. Also with the Q1000 Laser, light is sent through quartz crystal, which gives the laser organic characteristics. The 660 Probe is a gentle cold laser that penetrates deep into the body and provides more concentrated healing. It is often used for dental healing, facial or skin treatment, acupuncture, anti-aging, physical therapy, and more. The 808 Probe uses an infrared laser to reach cells in the innermost parts of the body. It helps with bones and teeth as well as ligaments, tendons, and joints. The Q10 Laser is less expensive than the Q1000 and helps with injuries, pain, and facial rejuvenation. It's also great for traveling. The Q1000 Propack combines all soft lasers into one package. Using Healing Lasers You can use healing lasers at home. Some lasers require training while others are fairly simple to use. The simpler models are designed so you can hold the laser near your body in the area where treatment is needed without discomfort. The laser does the work for you. The lasers also have different modes to help with certain needs. If you are considering cold laser treatments, consult with your doctor first

Going Grey the Sexy Way for Baby Boomer Women

I’m often asked by clients if they should go grey or not. The question comes down to you. If you are willing to invest the time and money in keeping your hair colored and cut regularly to cover the grey, then go for it. However, if you know you are the type of person who cannot be bothered seeing your colorist for two hours every 5 weeks, then you should think about going grey. If you’ve decided you are ready to embrace your grey like Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, or Judi Dench, then follow these tips to make sure you stay chic with your new do.
Keep your hair healthy
When hair is grey it has a tendency to look dry and brittle. Keep it silky and sultry with regular deep conditioning. When hair is healthy it keeps its shape, looks better longer, and keeps you feeling beautiful throughout the day. Silver is sexy, so make sure your hair makes people want to touch it because it is so healthy.
Get an interesting cutGrey hair tends to make you invisible if you have a boring cut. With a great cut you demand attention. Try an asymmetric cut or a blunt bob to stop people dead in their tracks. A great way to see what styles look best on you is to visit a wig store. Once there, you can let your imagination run wild with any style you like. I also suggest taking photos of yourself in wigs that you like in order to show your hairdresser and help in the transformation process.
Up your make upGrey lightens your natural coloring, so it is important to up your make up once you have gone grey. Foundation is key, as are eyes that pop and a little more blush. If you are not used to wearing much make up, this may feel like too much, but you will see that once you start creating more drama with your make up you will increase your presence and perception to others.
By following these quick tips, grey hair can be sexy. They key is not to let everything else go along with your hair color. Grey hair still requires maintenance, a good cut, and more make up to pull off successfully. Don’t be afraid to grey. The sooner you embrace it, the quicker you will be able to channel your inner Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep and be that sexy, silver, starlet.

Tips On Finding The Right Cosmetic Surgery Clinics

Cosmetic surgery clinics seem to be popping up everywhere. I never noticed organizations that practiced “aesthetic medicine” so much as I have in recent years. Maybe it’s a sign of the times or maybe it’s a sign of my age. Finding the right cosmetic surgery clinics for your specific needs is crucial to your appearance as well as your health.
Make sure that you do your homework before signing up to have a procedure done. Cosmetic surgery clinics are growing in numbers and some may offer great prices but this does not mean that these clinics are right for you. You may wind up paying a bigger price in the long run. Cheap is not the best approach when it comes to cosmetic surgery clinics.
The first thing that you want to do is start reading up on different procedures that you would like to have done. Maybe you would like a tummy tuck or perhaps you are simply interested in a laser face resurfacing procedure. In either case, there will be a number of cosmetic surgery clinics that offer services for you. However, only a few will be up to par.
Once you have narrowed down your choices according to the specific procedure that you want, you really want to weed out some of the cosmetic surgery clinics that are not right for your needs. The process may be a little daunting at first but it is never a good idea to just pick the clinic that it closest to home. This approach is a bad as going for the cheapest cosmetic surgery clinics in your area.
Of course, you want to stay close to home if you can but you really are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t explore cosmetic surgery clinics that have outstanding reputations. After all, you are going to be wearing the results for the rest of your life. You do want to make sure that your physician is top-notch.
So how do you discover who the leader in the field of cosmetic procedures is? It takes research. Probably the best route to take is to speak directly with patients who have been to the cosmetic surgery clinics that interest you. This may be a little more difficult than it seems. It is easy to find endorsements but it can be tricky to find a disgruntled customer.

Look Sexy In A Flash - Five Fabulous Ways

Between kids, school, and work, it’s easy for a frazzled female to let her beauty routine slip, but no matter how ragged your obligations make you feel, sacrificing your sexy to the demands of modern living can be the exception instead of the rule. Here are five tips that prove you can achieve glam on the go, and without spending a whole paycheck.
• Flawless skin in a hurry – get it with a tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers are light, easy to apply and quick. Look for one with SPF of 15 or higher that’s non-comedogenic like Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer.
• Lovely lips lickity split – for sheer drama and sex appeal nothing beats red lipstick. This year red lips are back in a big way and this new generation of pucker paints goes on smoothly and swiftly with a glossy shine. For maximum impact try Rimmel Vinyl lip gloss.
• Bee-line to glamour – what’s more compelling than a gorgeous set of peepers? Make yours pop with eyeliner. Not only is it quicker than mascara, but it’s twice as sexy. You can avoid the inevitable smudges and problems with precision by choosing a semi soft stick. A good one is Maybelline’s Expert Soft Pencil.
• Head rush –generally reserved for the occasional bad hair day, the pony tail is a fast and versatile do that rarely gets the respect it deserves. A classic in the truest sense, the youthful and sophisticated pony tail is suitable for women of all ages. Sex it up by wearing it to one side or if you have them, with wispy bangs.
• Dressed in a dash – as you know, the right outfit can make or break your hottie factor. But what if you only have time to throw on some jeans and a tee? No worries! Nothing’s hotter than a well-fitting pair of jeans, fitted T-shirt, and sexy shoes. And by sexy we don’t necessarily mean a pair of towering heels. Try a cute ballet slipper, a pair of riding boots (tuck your jeans in them), or a chunky heeled motorcycle boot.

What Is Microdermabrasion

While you might have heard about skin dermabrasion, you may be asking “what is microdermoabrasion?” This treatment is an alternative to the more rigorous and harsh skin treatments previously available and it is rapidly gaining popularity among those who want great results without having to suffer through weeks of unsightly skin. Here we will discuss the basics of what is microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is similar to dermabrasion, but much gentler. It uses a crystallized cream containing aluminum-oxide crystals to gently abrade the skin and remove only the outer layers. This cream is most often applied with a battery-operated tool that has interchangeable heads, a scrubbing brush, an applicator, and a sponge. These help lightly “sand” the affected skin, remove it and then soothe it with a gel or cream designed to stimulate cell growth.
What is microdermabrasion effective at treating? This new method of improving problem skin is very useful for virtually any surface problem. It has been proven effective against fine lines and wrinkles, age or liver spots, mild sun damage and also surface scars, such as those caused by acne. It can also reduce or even eliminate stretch marks and large pores. Many people are turning to microdermabrasion for minor problems instead of resorting to the major process of chemical peels or regular dermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion has many benefits over the more standard, invasive techniques previously used to treat similar problems. For one, it has virtually no recovery time, you can do it on your lunch break and go right back to work afterwards. You might be a little red, but the slight discomfort experienced during the procedure shouldn’t affect you once it is over. You will probably even have your co-workers wondering what is microdermabrasion, eager to try something so simple.
By now, you are probably wondering “what is microdermabrasion NOT good at?” While very effective against surface problems like little scars and uneven skin tone and texture, microdermabrasion is not meant for deeper treatments. Even for such disorders as acne scarring or stretch marks, you may need repeated treatments in order to get the results you want. This can end up being nearly as expensive (though not as painful!) as a regular dermabrasion treatment.

Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss- Latest Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Trends

Morbid obesity is a new epidemic afflicting nearly one third of all those in Southern California, including Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. One of the most effective ways for permanent weight loss has been through “bariatric” surgery, including gastric bypass and gastric banding.
Having successfully battled obesity, these people are now faced with a new challenge – excessive and hanging skin folds of the abdomen, arms, thighs, breasts, and face. Thinking that once they lose their massive weight they will be attractive again, men and women are disappointed and frustrated with unsightly folds of skin that now cover their groin like an apron, hang off their arms like “bat wings,” and wiggle from their legs when trying to jog. It also creates a problem for personal hygiene and in finding clothes that fit.
This challenge has led to the development of new ways of body contouring; specially designed for individuals after massive weight loss surgery. An experienced Beverly Hills plastic surgeon can help to determine if this procedure is right for you.
The most common post-bariatric body contouring plastic surgery in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills is a tummy tuck, or “abdominoplasty.” These are not standard tummy tucks, but rather extensive or “high tension” tummy tucks designed to also lift the sagging hips and thighs, while tightening the loose abdominal wall muscles. A more extensive form of this tummy tuck is called a body lift or belt lipectomy, which removes the excess skin of the abdominal fold as well as that from the back; resulting in a greater lift of the sagging buttocks and the thighs. Panniculectomy is a more specific form of a tummy tuck selected for those with extremely large, heavy, and hanging abdominal pannus. Often, obesity results in the over-stretching and weakening of the abdominal wall, which produces a ventral hernia. This and other types of hernias can also be repaired at the time of a tummy tuck or body lift. The cost of a body lift in Los Angeles is approximately $16,000 to $28,000. The second most common body contouring procedure in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills after massive weight loss is breast lift surgery and breast reduction surgery. These procedures are not limited to women, because men also develop hanging breast/chest folds after weight loss. In women, an inverted-T or anchor mastopexy is used. (Only a skilled Los Angeles breast augmentation specialist should perform this surgery)
Often breast implants are added to replenish the lost breast volume. This procedure is, at times, combined with an upper body lift which removes the excess skin folds of the upper torso that extends to the upper back. Breast reduction surgery for post-weight loss male patients has a different aim and design. Its goal is to create a flat and masculine chest. Breast reduction for men typically causes a scar that falls in the under-breast fold as well as around the areola. It can also be combined with an upper body lift or a brachioplasty. The cost of breast lift surgery in Beverly Hills or Los Angeles is approximately $ 8,500 to $16,000.
The third most common body contouring surgery in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills following massive weight loss is brachioplasty. Brachioplasty, or an “arm tuck,” removes excess hanging skin of the upper arms. In its extended form, it also removes the redundant skin folds of the outer chest and the axilla or the armpit. The cost of brachioplasty in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills is approximately $6,500 to $12,000.
The fourth most prevalent post-bariatric plastic surgery procedure in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills is a thigh lift. Thigh lifts address the excess skin folds of the inner or medial thighs, that of the outer or lateral thighs, or that of the entire thigh. It can be rather extensive, reaching along the entire length of the thighs and legs. The cost of thigh lift in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills is approximately $12,000 to $20,000.
Finally, the least common plastic surgery procedure performed as a result of massive weight loss is a facelift. This is due to the fact that people gain relatively far less weight in their face that their body. Therefore, after massive weight loss there is relatively less loose skin of the face, as there would be on the other areas of the body. Nevertheless, patients have less loose facial skin, hanging neck folds, jowls, and cheeks after weight loss. A variety of facial cosmetic surgeries including neck lift, facelift, mid-face lift, or a forehead lift can address problems associated with sagging facial skin, accordingly.
In planning for body contouring procedures after massive weight loss, special attention has to be given for optimizing safety and minimizing potential complications. These types of procedures that are rather lengthy, complicated, and are performed on patients that might have other associated risk factors such as sleep apnea, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, venous insufficiency, malnutrition, etc. These patients need to be medically optimized and cleared by an internist, pulmonologist, or a cardiologist prior to surgery. Furthermore, the surgical facility must be equipped and staffed to provide specialized care for such surgeries, as well as to provide extended post-surgical monitored care.

Why Do Beverly Hills Women Seek Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation has become, if not the most popular, at least one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures sought in Beverly Hills. In fact, the popularity of breast implant surgery has moved beyond Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Southern California, to the rest of the United States. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), in 2003 nearly 255,000 women in the United States underwent breast augmentation; nearly twice the number performed in 1998.
In this educational article about breast augmentation, as well as in other breast related articles provided on www.beautifulfigure.com, board certified plastic surgeon and renowned breast augmentation specialist Dr. Sean Younai reviews some of the pertinent topics about breast augmentation (or enlargement), saline and silicone breast implant placement or exchange, breast lift or "mastopexy," breast reduction surgery, and the treatments for complications of breast augmentation or "augmentation mammoplasty."
Why do women seek breast augmentation?• Some women never developed normal shaped, or normal sized breasts as the rest of their body matured. Frustrated with the lack of results from breast enlargement firming creams, pills, exercises, or machines, these women turn to breast augmentation surgery to achieve the proportional figure that they had always desired.• Other women were unfortunately born with abnormal or asymmetrical breast deformities such as Poland's Syndrome, which results from the failure of breast gland and pectoral chest muscles to development on one side. Similarly, others were afflicted with tubular or tuberous breast deformity which causes the constriction and narrowing of the base of the breast along with the enlargement of the areola. Breast implants and breast augmentation surgery has been able to give these women normal-looking and beautiful breasts.• Many women have lost breast volume, fullness, and shape with pregnancy, breastfeeding and nursing. While happy with being blessed with childbirth, these women feel that in return they have lost their youthful appearing breasts. These fashion-conscious women of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and Hollywood have sought breast augmentation as a means of regaining their proportional figure, so once again they can fit into form-fitting tops, bras, and other clothes.• Obesity afflicts 65 percent of all adults in the United States, according to the National Institute of Health (NIH). Bariatric or Gastric Bypass surgery has become a very popular treatment for morbid obesity. After such massive weight loss surgery, women lose significant breast volume and are left with empty and sagging breasts. Breast augmentation along with breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, has been the answer for those women who seek to regain a normal figure and breasts after massive weight loss.• Breast Augmentation with breast implants has been a viable and safe option for breast reconstruction, which is done on many women who have lost their breasts to breast cancer. Breast Reconstruction with breast implants utilizes breast implant expanders to first enlarge the breast skin envelope before the final saline or silicone breast implant is placed.
What information should you consider before proceeding with breast augmentation? During your consultation at the California Center for Plastic Surgery (www.beautifulfigure.com) , Dr. Younai will review your options for different types, shapes, textures, and sizes of saline or silicone breast implants, as well as, different approaches for breast enlargement.
Breast implants can be inserted via an armpit incision (transaxillary), areolar/nipple incision (periareolar), breast fold incision (inframammary), or belly button incision (transumbilical). While an armpit or transaxillary incision scar might not be very noticeable, it usually results in the breasts being too far apart, causing lack of a strong cleavage. It also carries a higher risk for implant displacement and breast asymmetry.
An inframammary or periareolar approach can usually produce the nicest cleavage and the most precise placement of breast implants.
While the transumbilical approach is marketed by some plastic surgeons as "scarless breast augmentation," indeed it is not so! I have personally consulted women who were not pleased with the belly button scar; especially since they were no longer able to wear cut-off tops. The transumbilical route of breast implant insertion also carries an increased surgical risk of possible damage to internal organs if the inserting metal rod is misguided.

How To Apply Eye Makeup

The same basic steps are used when you apply eye makeup, whether you go for nude makeup or the seductive, smoky eye look. You change your look by your choice of colors. Go for natural colors, close your your skin tones for that nude makeup look, something rosier if you want to look radiant, something more golden, or with metallics if you want glamour, or darker, smoky colors for the smoky eye look.
Decide on your look. Pick three colors for your eyeshadow.
A light shade for the highlights. This could be a pearl-like shimmer, a very light metallic, or simply a very pale color.
A medium shade which would be the main color you would use.
A dark shade for the shadows.
Applying the eye makeup
Apply your foundation first over your entire face before you start on your eye makeup. You need a good canvas to work with.
Apply an eyeshadow primer from lash to brow to make your eye makeup last. You can skip this step if you prefer.
Using a makeup brush or eyeshadow sponge, apply the medium shade from lashes to the crease of your eyelid.
Draw a line as close to your upper lashes as possible with your eyeliner, from inner corner, to the outer corner of your eye. For smoky eyes, draw a thick line. Use an eye pencil to darken your lower lash line as well.
Using the edge for your eyeshadow brush, or with an eyeliner brush, go over this lash line with the dark eyeshadow.
Apply the dark eyeshadow into the crease of your eyelid to deepen your eyes.
Use the light color on the brow bone to highlight your eyes.
Apply the light shadow from lash to crease at the center of your eyelid.
Go over the entire eyelid lightly with a large brush to blend the colors.
Apply mascara on your upper and lower lashes

How To Prevent Cellulite - Several Great Tips

What is one word that can cause widespread fear and loathing in women all across the world? Although images of spiders, snakes or even bad dates might come to mind, an even more common fear exists – cellulite! The unsightly wrinkling of skin around your hips, thighs and buttocks is experienced by most post-pubescent women. Although you can’t completely eliminate cellulite, you can empower yourself to reduce the condition.
If you want to know how to prevent cellulite, you need to inform yourself of the various methods available.
The cosmetics industry has been more than happy to take advantage of this widespread condition by offering an endless variety of products aimed at fighting cellulite. Anti-cellulite creams, lotions or gels are now available in most department stores and the majority of cosmetic companies now offer products specifically targeted to reduce cellulite. For example, Hydroderm has created a product called “Body Shape” which increases moisture to the skin. The active ingredients of the lotion are delivered into the fat cells in an effort to dehydrate and reduce the size of the individual fat cells. The prices and results vary greatly so you will need to invest a little time to determine if any of the products actually do produce visible results.
An option that requires a little more effort, but greatly improves your chances of positive results is weight and interval training. Interval training consists of alternating between a recovery or slower pace and a faster high-exertion pace of exercises. Fitness instructors recommend performing vigorous interval training at least twice per week. Weight lifting sessions should also be incorporated into your weekly routine – especially exercises targeted for the lower body such as squats, leg presses and lunges. Regular cardiovascular exercise will help you to burn extra calories and transform body fat into energy, thus minimizing the appearance of cellulite.
Another alternative is to adopt a healthier diet. Try to reduce the number of refined carbohydrates and saturated fats you eat. Trade unhealthy choices such as white flour, vegetable oil and junk food for healthier options such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. With a little patience, you may begin to see a visible reduction in cellulite in as little as 3 weeks.
If you prefer a faster solution to reducing cellulite, you can opt for liposuction. This medical procedure involves removing the pockets of excess fat from specific regions of your body. You need to remain aware of the risks involved, not to mention the cost and pain. For women who are not ready to take this step, massage therapy is available. This non-invasive method increases blood flow and assists with the elimination of excess fluid. The procedure is less painful, risky and costly than liposuction, but may require multiple sessions.
Although you can’t completely eliminate cellulite, you can empower yourself to reduce the condition. Make changes to your exercise routine or diet, try some of the creams or lotions available, undergo liposuction or invest in massage therapy. Hopefully the end results will allow you to don your short skirts and bathing suits with a renewed pride.

Cellulite Skincare - Treat Your Skin Like The "Skin" Of A Balloon

Cellulite is fat that is caught between bands of connective tissue. By taking a Lifestyle approach (diet, exercise, anti-cellulite treatments, the mind-body connection (your secret weapon)) you can reduce it significantly and keep it off.
Proper skincare comes under the anti-cellulite treatments category of the Lifestyle Approach. By treating your skin properly, you can make your cellulite prone areas look better. The two things you need to address in terms of skincare and cellulite are the elasticity of the skin and the circulation to the skin.
An interesting analogy is the one of the balloon. Think of your skin like the "skin" of a balloon. Think of your muscles (and their structure) that are in the cellulite prone areas as the air in a balloon while you read the following ways to take care of your skin.
Exercise is an important part of skincare. Aerobic exercise will help to bring circulation to your cellulite prone areas. It will also help you to burn fat. Circulation is a very important element in minimizing cellulite. Some handheld devices also will help with circulation. There are creams and lotions that are invigorating and bring more blood flow to the parts of your body that have cellulite.
By increasing circulation through exercise, creams and lotions and handheld devices, you help to support and nourish your muscles (or air in the balloon). Toned muscles improve the appearance of your body, your skin and the areas where you have cellulite.
If you want to have smooth skin, like the "skin" of a full balloon, then you need to improve the elasticity of your skin. There are creams that do this and help to hydrate your skin. Creams are usually richer then lotions or gels.
Exercise is also very important, but in the area of elasticity, you need to do anaerobic conditioning exercises that "tone" your muscles. If you have good muscle tone, then the muscles (air) will press up into your skin and make it smooth. Pick some exercises that target your hips, buttocks and thighs and do them at least twice per week.
Another important part of skincare in terms of elasticity is hydration. You must keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water so that it will stay firm. Also, if you stay hydrated, you are less likely to retain water.
Be sure to wear sunscreen in order to maintain the elasticity of your skin. The sun breaks down your collagen causing your skin to sag. A full spectrum sunscreen (one that blocks UVA and UVB rays) is an important part of any skincare routine, including cellulite.

Silicone Breast Implant Use Is Now Approved By FDA

The November 17th 2006 Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of the use of Mentor and Allergan (Inamed Corporation) silicone breast implants in the United States has raised many questions among women in Southern California, especially those in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.
Prospective Los Angeles breast augmentation patients want to know if they can now receive silicone gel-filled breast implants, and if so, what types of silicone breast implants are available? And what are the potential adverse effects or concerns?
Candidates for Silicone Breast Implants
• Only women of 22 years of age and older can have silicone breast implants for breast augmentation or enlargement.
• Women of all ages can now qualify to have silicone implants for breast reconstruction.
Contraindications for Use of Silicone Breast Implants
Breast implant surgery should not be performed on:
• Women with active infection anywhere in their body
• Women with existing cancer or pre-cancer of their breast who have not received adequate treatment for those conditions
• Women who are currently pregnant or nursing
You should also know that silicone gel-filled breast implants have not been clinically tested on women with:
• Autoimmune diseases such as lupus or scleroderma
• Conditions that could interfere with wound healing and blood clotting
• A weakened immune system (such as women receiving immunosuppressive therapy)
• Reduced blood supply to the breast tissue
• Radiation to the breast following implantation
• Clinical diagnosis of depression or other mental health disorders, including body dysmorphic disorder and eating disorders (Please discuss any history of mental health disorders prior to surgery) Differences in the Use of Saline & Silicone Breast Implants
Unlike saline breast implants, which are filled with saline after insertion in the body, the silicone breast implants are pre-filled with silicone. Therefore, silicone breast implants, especially the cohesive gel, memory gel, “Gummy Bear,” and the contour profile gel implants, require a larger incision for the insertion of the implant. In fact, the FDA does not allow the use of the periumbilical approach (TUBA) for the insertion of silicone implants, because excessive squeezing or manipulation during insertion can damage the silicone gel-filled breast implants.
What are some of the important factors you should consider when deciding whether or not to get silicone gel-filled breast implants?
• Breast implants do not last forever. If you decide to get breast implants, you will likely need additional surgeries on your breasts over your lifetime due to complications or unsatisfactory cosmetic outcomes.
• Many of the changes to your breasts following implantation cannot be undone. If you later choose to have your implants removed and not replaced; your breasts will not change back to the way they looked before your implant surgery. You may have permanent dimpling, puckering, wrinkling, or other cosmetic changes.
• When you have your implants replaced (a revision), your risk of complications increases compared to your primary (first) surgery.
• Routine mammograms to screen for breast cancer will be more difficult with breast implants.
• Breast implants may affect your ability to breastfeed, either by reducing or eliminating milk production.
• If your silicone gel-filled breast implant ruptures, it is likely that neither you nor your doctor will know. This is known as a silent rupture. This is why an MRI is recommended at three years after implantation and then every two years thereafter to screen for rupture. However, sometimes there are symptoms. These include hard knots or lumps surrounding the implant or in the armpit, change or loss of size or shape of the breast or implant, and pain, tingling, swelling, numbness, burning, or hardening of the breast.
• Over your lifetime, the cost of MRI screening may exceed the cost of your initial surgery. The MRI screening cost may not be covered by medical insurance.
• All silicone breast implants “bleed” or leak a very minute amount of silicone. However, worldwide studies have not linked silicone bleed to any illness.
What are the different types of silicone breast implants available?
Both Mentor and Allergan manufacture a variety of silicone breast implants. Mentor produces silicone implants of different firmness depending on the degree of silicone cohesiveness. The so-called “gummy bear” implants are the more cohesive silicone gel-filled breast implants made of firmer silicone gel filler to help maintain the shape of the implant.
Potential Complications of Silicone Gel-filled Breast Implants
In the Mentor and Allergan core studies, the most frequent complication was re-operation (additional surgery) – 25-35 percent. Capsular contracture or hardening of the breast implants (13-17 percent) was another frequent complication. Additional common complications include implant removal (7-10 percent), breast pain (7-8 percent), nipple sensation changes (1.5 percent), rupture (2.7- 4 percent), and asymmetry (3-5 percent). The complication rates were typically higher for revision surgery than for primary (first-time) implants.
Decision to Have Silicone Breast Implants
As a plastic surgeon, I often get asked if I would recommend silicone breast implants to my wife. Frankly, many national studies have established the safety of silicone breast implants and have found no link to the development of autoimmune disease, cancer, etc. Nevertheless, there are still unanswered questions about the long-term results (per FDA). Those who choose to have silicone implants enroll in the 10-year, post-approval study so that more light can be shed on the long-term effects of these medical devices.

Best Pubic Hair Shaving Method

The best pubic hair shaving method has just been upgraded from the regular old razor blade to the much improved personal shaver;
Personal shavers have become one of the most popular methods of removing unwanted pubic hair. Perfect for women and men, personal shavers have been specially designed leave your pubic region smoothly shaven without ever nicking, cutting or biting your skin.
Because personal shavers are used on dry skin, the whole process of shaving down there becomes less messy and more time efficient. Most good quality shavers can actually be used on a daily basis.
The reason why these amazing devices are so effective at leaving you smoothly shaven, is due to the special thin foils and rotary blades that they carry. These rotary blades have been designed to shave even the most stubborn curly pubic hair on your body.
Personal shavers can also be used to shave unwanted pubic hair off the testicles without ever causing any injury to them. Now that’s what I call safe! Keep in mind that you still need to pull the skin tight in this area before attempting to shave it.
Please understand that not all personal shavers are the same Quality. Purchasing a poor quality one can leave you with more nicks and cuts than your old razor blade.
It is for this reason that you should always invest your money into a good quality personal shaver. This will ensure that your pubic area is always smoothly shaven without the any risk of injury.

Gray Hair - Step By Step Color Guide To Dye Gray Hair

Had enough of standing in front of the mirror and plucking out your sneaky, little gray hairs that seem to be sprigging-up more and more. Well I am going to help you decide what color is best for you and your hair and guide you along with an easy step by step guide to getting rid of gray hair.
1. First of all you need to decide how much of your hair is gray, look at your hair and estimate a percentage of gray.
2. Use a semi-permanent if you estimate your hair is around 20 percent gray. The semi-permanent will begin to fade after 6-12 washes. So your hair will require frequent re-coloring if you shampoo your hair everyday.
3. If your hair is around 50 percent gray then I would opt for a longer lasting semi-permanent, often called a “quasi”. These colors will last roughly around 24-28 washes. So if “quasi” isn’t labeled on the box then look to see how many weeks the color will last which will be on the box.
If your hair is more than 50 percent gray and you are looking to color most or all of your gray hair then you will need a permanent dye. If you are more than 50 percent gray and you would prefer a semi-permanent then that is okay but you should know that all of your gray will not be covered, however some clients actually prefer this as:
A small amount of gray left which looks very natural. People that see your hair will just assume you don’t color your hair because they can see a little gray, when in actual fact most of it is covered!
You don’t need to do touch-ups (roots) as often.
Semi-permanents are kinder on the hair and leave hair with an incredible shine and in great condition.
4. If you decide that your hair needs a permanent dye then I would advise doing a strand test. One reason for this is to check your hair is compatible with the chemicals in the color. Secondly, to assess the result of the color.
Cut off about a ¼ of an inch of hair from underneath, near your neck and bind one end with some tape.
Mix a small amount of the hair color solution from the directions on the box.
Place the hair swatch in the solution and leave for least amount of time according to the box. (It’s generally around 40 minutes).
Although do keep checking for the desired color, take a note of the time it took.
How to choose the right shade…Choose colors that closely match your natural color. The natural color you’re looking for is not the gray; it’s the darker strands in your hair. Once you have determined your natural hair color consider a shade darker for your chosen color as the color can appear lighter than expected, and will most likely fade a little due to washing and UV rays from the sun.
You will need to regularly touch-up your roots, around 6-8 weeks depending on your hair growth. I would suggest coloring your hair on a Saturday morning, if possible, so you have time get used to your new look before you go back to work.
Give yourself plenty of time to apply the color as it may seem tricky at first. Take your time and apply neatly over your hair.
Be especially neat around your hair line as the color will stain to a certain degree. However there are ways to prevent bad staining by apply a small amount of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) around your hair hairline and the tops of your ears and around the back of your neck.
Make sure you don’t get any petroleum jelly on your hair as this will act as a barrier against the color, which means you will be left with patches of hair uncolored.
Lay an old towel over the bathroom and wear an old top. Wear fitted protective gloves and now you can begin the coloring process. Follow the directions on the box exactly.
Set the timer and sit back and relax while you wait for your hair to develop.
Top 3 Don’ts When Coloring your Hair!
1. If you have used a Henna Color, make sure you never use any Chemical products on it i.e. Color and Perm solution as the chemical reaction will be extremely damaging to your hair, scalp and skin. You will have to wait until it grows out.
2. Some color-enhancing products can be quite irritable to the scalp so always test on very small amount before hand. (back of your neck or behind your ear)
3. Avoid chlorine for a few days after coloring, this could change the color.

Fast Healing Natural Dry Skin Care Treatments

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Xeroderma, the medical name for dry skin, occurs most commonly on the lower legs, arms, the sides of the abdomen and thighs and is a very common condition.
The epidermis contains no blood vessels, and cells in the deepest layers are nourished by diffusion from blood capillaries extending to the uppermost layers of the dermis. The outermost layer of epidermis consists of 25 to 30 layers of dead cells. The average square inch of skin holds 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, 60,000 melanocytes, and more than a thousand nerve endings.
Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it's not common. Forced-air furnaces may make skin even drier than it already is. Dry skin can also be a sign of an underactive thyroid.
When the oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin, the skin becomes dehydrated. Dry skin can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, systemic illness, overexposure to sunlight or some medications. Dry skin happens more often in the winter when the cold air outside and heated air inside cause the humidity to be low.
Eating foods high in omega-3's is particularly important for people with dry skin or acne. Get 20-30 minutes of sunshine daily on your arms and/or legs; sunshine triggers the body's production of Vitamin D3, which is essential to having healthy skin. When the skin is dry and dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne, zits, blemishes, or other breakouts; drink plenty of pure water.
If you use moisturizers, use the thick, oily-type which work better for dry skin. Apply cool compresses to any itchy areas. Use bath oils and moisturizers, or better yet, coconut oil, daily.
Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it's edible, so it's safe and so healing to the lips. Coconut oil is the best healing, soothing, and moisturizing treatment I've found for dry skin; in fact all types of skin conditions, skin eruptions, pimples, acne, milia, irritations, cuts, burns, fungus, etc. If you have acne, eczema or any type of dermatitis coconut oil will treat and quickly heal these skin conditions too.
Dry skin contributes to fine lines and wrinkles; coconut oil helps prevent the onset by keeping the skin soft and supple. I buy coconut oil by the gallon; it's cheaper for a whole gallon of coconut oil than a small jar of department store, name-brand moisturizer.
Functions of the skin are disturbed when it's not clean; it becomes more easily damaged, the release of antibacterial compounds decreases and it's more prone to develop infections. Many skin conditions can be converted into clear, healthy skin by using natural home remedies.
If your dry skin lasts for a long time and is itchy or feels hot when you touch it, see your doctor. Call your skin doctor if dryness and itching are preventing you from sleeping. Following some of the above treatments, your dry skin should be well on its way to recovery.

Simple Tips And Facts For Contact Lens Shoppers

If you've always wanted to change your eye color, color contact lenses can provide baby blues, gorgeous greens, heavenly hazels -- even various patterns and designs. Contact lens sales are regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission.) In the U.S. contact lens marketplace, 82 percent wear soft lenses, 16 percent wear rigid gas-permeable and only 2 percent wear hard.
You'll want to take simple precautions to make any lens purchase safe and effective. With a contact lens prescription in hand, it's possible to buy your contact lenses from stores, the Internet, over the phone, or by mail.
If you live an active lifestyle, NIGHT & DAY breathable lenses will allow you 30 hours of continuous wear. Disposable lenses don't come with instructions for cleaning and disinfecting, while those labeled specifically for planned replacement do. Contact lenses are often more complex than they appear to be.
Although easier to handle and less likely to tear, rigid gas permeable lenses are not as comfortable initially as soft contacts and it may take a few weeks to get used to wearing the RGPs, compared to just a few days for soft contacts. You can mark rigid lenses to show which lens is for which eye; they don't rip or tear, so they're easy to handle. There are several types of lenses including: soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, extended wear lenses and disposables.
Bifocal correction is possible with both soft and rigid lenses. In some models, each lens corrects for near and distance vision and in others, one lens is for near vision, and the other is for distance. Soft lenses are easier to adjust and are much more comfortable than rigid lenses, because they conform to the eye and absorb and hold water.
It's important for your eyes to have a rest, without lenses, for at least one night following each scheduled removal. Some doctors prescribe disposables as planned-replacement lenses, which are removed, disinfected, and reused before being discarded.
When you receive your order, if you think you've received an incorrect contact lens, check with your doctor or eye care professional right away; don't accept any substitution unless your eye care professional approves it. Compare prices - get quotes from two or three online and offline suppliers. Always ask what rebates are available.
Wherever you buy, shop for quality and value and don't forget you want to do what's best for your eye health. If you have an insurance plan, the insurance plan's seller's prices may or may not be better than what you can find elsewhere; this should be just one option when you're shopping for lenses. Rebates may be available from the seller, from the manufacturer, for first-time contact lens wearers and for individuals who buy lenses and get an eye exam.
There are many good contact lens retailers now on the Internet making their lenses available at a good discount for prescription and non-prescription lenses. You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club. Check out how long the online supplier has been in business before you buy.
Basic rule: never swap your contact lenses with anyone else. Microorganisms may be present in distilled water, so always use commercial sterile saline solutions, if you plan to use enzyme tablets in water for disinfections. Getting a proper fit is essential; contact lenses that are poorly fitted can lead to eyesores, eye inflammation, and eye abrasions.
Be aware that extended-wear (overnight) contact lenses - rigid or soft - increase the risk of corneal ulcers, which are infection-caused eruptions on the cornea that can lead to blindness; symptoms include vision changes, eye redness, eye discomfort or pain, and excessive tearing. Under the binding down of a rigid contact lens during sleep, the flow of tears and oxygen to the cornea is reduced; lack of oxygen leaves the eye vulnerable to infection. If your eyes become red or irritated, remove the lenses immediately and consult with your doctor.
Laser surgery and its risks can be frightening and too expensive for some people; contacts can provide a safe, comfortable and time-tested alternative. Make sure you've done your homework before you buy any pair of contact lenses. Remember to use only contact lenses that are FDA-approved and only if prescribed by a licensed eyecare professional.

Tips on Choosing an Online Internet Pharmacy

Ordering your prescription through an online Internet pharmacy can save you money and save you a trip to the local pharmacy. It is important that the online pharmacy you choose is legitimate and offers the services and medicines that you need.
Many people save a large percentage by ordering their medicines at an online Internet pharmacy. This is especially helpful if you order regularly and order several at a time. Even veterinary medicines are available. If you live in a remote area or a small town with a small pharmacy, it might be hard to get some prescriptions. An online Internet pharmacy has a large stock of medicines to serve people from different places.
Finding an Online Internet Pharmacy
The best way to find a pharmacy to suit your needs is to use an Internet search engine that will give you multiple sites to check out. There are special sites to verify pharmacy licenses and validate their business. You can also contact the Better Business Bureau Online to find out if there are negative reports from any pharmacies you have found.
Online pharmacies offer many categories of medicines for all different needs. You can buy many of the most popular medicines at these sites. You can buy pain relief medicines, allergy medicines, weight loss and others such as Diazepam. Valium, Alprazolam, Codeine, Viagra, Xanax, Acetaminophen, Lorazepam, and Ativan are all available. If you suffer from arthritis, blood pressure, or need an antibiotic, you will find these available at the online pharmacy as well.
When you are looking at different pharmacies, be sure to check on shipping costs and services offered. Some orders take up to three weeks to arrive and you need to order in time to receive it before you run out of your current prescribed amount. If you need emergency medicine, it would probably be better to get your prescription locally.
Buy Quality Medicines
Some practical measures will ensure that you will be satisfied with your order. Don't plan to buy based solely on price, research first and make sure you will be buying quality medicines. Make sure they have a valid street address and phone number and licenses to practice in their country. Don't use an online Internet pharmacy unless it has a privacy policy. This is important to protect you from Internet spam and also your personal privacy.
Medicines dispensed in the U.S. are quality controlled by the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP), in conjunction with the FDA. You should consider this when choosing to buy drugs from out of the country.
It is not a good idea to order medicines you have never taken before, you should know what your prescription looks like. This will help ensure that you receive the right drug and not a substitute or counterfeit. Consult with a health care professional before ordering online prescriptions. And, don't mix medicines without talking to a doctor first. Some medicines have serious interactions when combined with others.
Save at an Online Internet Pharmacy
With the cost of drugs rising drastically in recent years, an online Internet pharmacy can assist you in saving money on your prescriptions and other medicines. Take time to research your options to get the best prices on quality medications.

Make-up Tips for Prom Night

If you took a quick survey of what is one of most important days in a teenager’s life prom night would get a good number of responses right next to graduation and their 16th birthday. Grand plans are made. The right dress needs to be picked out. The perfect hairstyle needs to be fashioned. The right makeup and the right date also need to be decided on. Plans are made months in advance so that you have the most perfect prom memories to last the rest of your life.
The weeks and days before the prom are so crazy; you’ll be dizzy before you know it. To make things easier, we've compiled the top beauty musts for prom. If you live by these, we guarantee you won't look drab, boring or too much like your regular, everyday self for this year's prom.
Start off with a natural looking base with a matte effect if you have oily skin or try a glossy effect for dry skin. Pick a tone that complements your skin's undertone and is a shade darker or lighter depending on the kind of coverage you want. Remember looking your age will make you look more beautiful.
Use colors on your eyes that make them twinkle up and not make you look like you just woke up. Oceanic blues, champagne beige, sage, pink, violet, warm browns and coppers look nice as base shades but always remember subtly. Once you are through applying the shadows, use double doses of transparent waterproof mascara.
Apply a modest amount of blush. It’ll give you a flushed look that all the other girls will be trying to get. If you have a cool complexion then use a rosy colored blush and for warm complexions bronzed blushes look fabulous.
Since you only have one senior prom your whole life, the day is special so of course you can use that lip color you've always wanted to try but were too timid to. Matte lip colors will balance the make-up on your face. Just be aware that glossy lip shades will reflect light and spoil photographs.
Your hair style should compliment your dress. Generally tied up buns and braids look very dressy and excellent with prom queen tiaras but shiny long hair with curls are very graceful and sort of princess like. The key is choosing the right style for your face and dress.
You can add a variety of different accessories to your hair and your outfit and dress up your entire ensemble. A brooch on a plain evening gown and a clutch bag will look infinitely high end.
Whatever amount you invest in shoes and bags this time will be worth it all. Just stay with the classics so that they are always in vogue.
Carry a shawl in case it’s gets a little chilly. A pretty shawl can do all the magic you are hoping for your look. If you watch the red carpet carefully you'll find many a celebrities parading about with chic stoles and shawls.
Do not forget about that pedicure and a manicure! A visit to the salon is must.
On the big day, just relax and take it easy. Do not indulge in any shopping and running errands. Take a long luxurious bath and eat light meals through the day before the party.

Have People Notice You With These Eye Makeup Tips

What can be more sexy to a warm-blooded male that a woman with big, sexy eyes? Ok, that list can actually go on and on and on. What was I thinking? The truth is, there a large number of men who do find big eyes sexy and seductive. Look at Anne Hathaway, for example. She’s made a career of having big, “doe-y” eyes.
My eyes are kind of small but that doesn’t mean I walk around all the time wearing sunglasses. I have my secrets and tricks to achieving the illusion of big eyes, and I put together this list of some of these secrets. I also asked a few other women who suffer from the same small eyes affliction like me, what they do to overcoming this small eyes syndrome. Here’s what some of what they have to say:
Eyeliner is much like a wizard’s magic wand. It has to power to create the illusion of bigger, more expressive eyes. Line the entire top lash line and extend the line slightly at the corners. You can also line the bottom of your eyes, but concentrate color only on the outer third and extend it slightly past the edge. A soft, smoky look will open your eyes more than a thin, hard line. Try to stick with dark, neutral colors with a hint of black for lining. Bright shades will only make them seem smaller and that’s what we are trying to avoid.
The right application on your lashes can be a big eye-opener. No pun intended! Curl them three times before applying mascara at the base, halfway up and at the tip. This creates a gentle, rounded curl. Next, fan out your lashes while applying mascara. Brush the inner third in toward your nose, the middle third straight out and the outer third toward your temples.
Contrary to the popular belief you may have read in Cosmo, dark, dramatic eye shadow will not make your eyes stand out. In fact, it does the exact opposite. If you have small eyes, keep it simple by using only light-colored shadows, and never wear more than two shades at once. Brush a subtle base color from lash to brow, and then use a slightly darker shade to create subtle definition in the crease. Certain moisturizers should not be applied to the eye area. They cause it to swell up worse than it already is.
Separate eye creams and gels are a must if you suffer with puffy or aging eyes.
Hold a metal spoon under cold running water for a few minutes and then gently press it onto the eye area to soothe, cool and reduce swelling.
Thin cucumber slices are a good one for reducing puffiness and soothing tired, sore eyes.
Hemorrhoid creams applied to the puffy area, are fantastic for reducing swelling.
Soak used tea bags in cold water for around ten minutes and place them on the puffy area.
Elevate your head when you sleep to promote fluid to drain away from your eye area.
Place a slice of raw potato underneath your eyes. The potassium in them counteracts dark circles.
Avoid salty foods as these can cause fluid retention.

Creating the Elusive "Lunchtime Facelift"

The "lunchtime facelift" has been the holy grail in plastic surgery for quite a while. The idea of providing facial rejuvenation with no downtime appeals to both plastic surgeons and patients. Get your treatment, look improved and freshened, and immediately go back to work, out on the town or, for some of our entertainment patients here in Beverly Hills, head over to the red carpet at an awards show. Who wouldn't want to get their facial rejuvenation and then have no recovery?
Essentially all of the so called "no downtime facelifts" or "lunchtime facelifts" simply did not live up to their billing. As a plastic surgeon, I know that surgery involves recovery. It is just the way the body responds to a surgical procedure. Traditionally, if the body did not react to the procedure, nothing much was really done and few changes were visible when all was said and done.
But now we have many nonsurgical techniques that can create instant facial freshening -- removing or smoothing wrinkles, plumping lips -- with no recovery. Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra and other new products provide facial rejuvenation and do not create scars or undue swelling. They can help achieve that elusive goal of improvements without downtime. This is perhaps the biggest revolution in plastic surgery in thirty years. If the muscles lay quietly, they do not tense and cause a wrinkle in the skin above. Botox is extremely safe, its results are predictable, and it can create fantastic improvements in facial appearance. My sister recently had it for the first time, and it dramatically improved and freshened the look of her face – just like I have seen it do for countless other of my patients.
The we use skin fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm we work to provide bulk under the skin to fill in wrinkles from below. They are very effective for both small lines and larger ones, such as the nasolabial folds which run from the sides of the nose toward the outside edges of the side of the mouth and the so-called marionette lines that go along the side of the chin.
Each person's face is different, so each person will do best with a different noninvasive treatment and nonsurgical skin rejuvenation. But the various procedures do provide fast changes with little or no recovery. Where in the past the “weekend facelift” was illusory, it is now possible to create dramatic changes without downtime.

Hair Dreams - What Do They Mean?

Dream interpretations of hair falling out, hair related symbols, changing color or being cut are fairly common.
Dreaming that your hair is being cut, falling out in hanks or being on fire is actually a sign of good health.
In American society, hair symbolizes vanity; so much so that, condition and color of the hair matters very much today. There are literally thousands of hair care products and prescription products for hair loss on the market being now sold over the counter.
Both men and women dye their gray hair rather than accept it as a sign of wisdom. For some people, having a "bad hair day" affects their entire day negatively.
Hair, Pulled hair, Wigs, they are all the rage nowadays. In fact, dreams of losing or graying hair can provoke fears of growing older or a lack of self-esteem. Likewise, a strong beard is a sign of youth and masculinity while a gray or white beard symbolizes wisdom and old age.
In the good old days of Samson and Delilah, hair was signified virility and strength. Karl Gustav Jung would have said that if you were male, dreams of losing hair would represent fear of castration or impotency.
For both women as well as men, having a hair cut could symbolize loss of strength. This might also suggest that someone was trying to restrain you or could represent conformity.
Do you think you are dealing with a situation in waking life where you are feeling powerless or stifled? Blowing your hair in the wind is a sign of lack of inhibition and a sense of freedom.
Do you feel you have to loosen your grip on things you can't control? Having ones hair styled or altered in any way again points to self-esteem and issues of self-image. How do you feel about yourself and your life? Maybe you are not only desirous of physical changes but might also have to revolutionize direction in life.
In quite a few cultures, hair is spirituality linked. Quite a number of Native American tribes think that ones soul or spirit resides in the hair. In this sense, cutting or shaving off ones hair in your dream could come to symbolize a desire to reconnect with the earth or ones spiritual path.
Hair dreams could mean sexual virility, seduction, sensuality, vanity, and health indicative of ones attitudes. If the hair is knotted or tangled, it is a sign of uncertainty and confusion in life, an inability to think straight.
Dreaming of cutting ones hair, symbolizes a loss of strength, like someone is trying to repress you. On the other hand, you could be reshaping your thinking or ambitions and eliminating unwanted thoughts and habits.
Dreaming that you are combing, stroking or styling your hair could suggest that you are evaluating or dealing with a new idea, concept, outlook, or way of thinking. It may have to do with putting your thoughts in order or getting your facts straight.
A more literal interpretation of such hair dreams would suggest your concerns about your image and appearance. The dream could also be a metaphor suggesting that you are feeling "light-headed".

Highly Effective Cheap Natural Dry Skin Treatments

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Natural treatments for dry skin are the best choice today rather than harsh chemical treatments.
The dermis is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis that consists of connective tissue and cushions the body from stress and strain. Our skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity than the other organs in our body. Skin contains hair follicles, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, apocrine glands and blood vessels.
Forced-air furnaces may make skin even drier than it already is. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins can also contribute to dry skin or result in a chronic dry skin condition that's not relieved by anything else. Dry skin can also be a sign of an underactive thyroid.
Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it's not common. Dry skin happens more often in the winter when the cold air outside and the heated air inside cause low humidity. When the skin loses moisture it may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed.
Eat an avocado every day; put it in your salad or mash it up and eat it with a spoon.
Try using a humidifier if the air is dry and you have a severe skin condition. Cosmetics should be used carefully because they may dry out the skin or cause allergic reactions like contact dermatitis; read the labels. For any skin condition, it's always better to take a natural approach.
Dry skin contributes to fine lines and wrinkles; coconut oil helps prevent the onset by keeping the skin soft and supple. To see what coconut oil can do for your skin fast, apply coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime. If you have acne, eczema or any type of dermatitis coconut oil will treat and quickly heal these skin conditions too.
After a soothing bath or shower at night just before bedtime, apply a thin layer of coconut oil over your entire body; it'll even last on your skin through your shower in the morning. Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it's edible, so it's safe and so healing to the lips.
The skin must be regularly cleaned or it'll become cracked or inflamed. Many skin conditions can be converted into clear, healthy skin by using cheap natural home remedies.
It's time to call your doctor for an appointment when all your home remedies do not relieve your dryness and itching. See your doctor or naturopathic doctor if your skin doesn't improve in spite of your best efforts. You should see the results with improved skin within a few days following these dry skin tips and suggestions.

Cheap Helpful Facts Tips And Treatments For Dry Skin

Skin doesn't become dry because it lacks oil, but because it lacks moisture. Only a lucky few of us have 'normal' skin; the rest of us have dry, oily or combination skin; if dryness is your skin problem, read on.
Skin is one of the most important parts of the body; it's our largest organ. The dermis is structurally divided into two areas: a superficial area adjacent to the epidermis, called the papillary region, and a deep thicker area known as the reticular region. Our skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity than the other organs in our body.
Serious skin complications, including a dry skin condition, can arise for people with type 2 diabetes. If you break out on the skin around your eyes, it could be the shellac in your mascara; buy a shellac-free mascara like Ecco Bella's. Skin gets exposed to the elements, especially in winter, causing it to become drier.
Environmental factors, such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps, can cause dry skin. Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it's not common. The symptoms most associated with dry skin are: scaling, which is the visible peeling of the outer skin layer, itching, and cracks in the skin.
The next time you want to have a snack, instead of junk food, help your skin - have an apple, orange, peach, pear, banana, plum, grapes, cherries, berries, cantaloupe or any other fresh fruit. Eat at least two organic apples a day while working to clear up your skin; apples are good for skin health - organic so you can eat pesticide-free skin (most of the apple pectin is in the skin), which helps with constipation too. Consider taking cod liver oil or fish oil supplements, in liquid form, every day.
If you use moisturizers, use the thick, oily-type which work better for dry skin. Avoid all products that have an alcohol base. Use bath oils and moisturizers, or better yet, coconut oil, daily.
Use coconut oil to remove your make-up at night, like I do; it leaves a fine layer of oil to nourish your skin all night long; but better yet, apply more coconut oil. Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it's edible, so it's safe and so healing to the lips. Use can use bath oils and moisturizers every day, but coconut oil has the added power of healing.
Coconut oil is very inexpensive - a great, cheap home remedy for all skin conditions. To see what coconut oil can do for your skin fast, apply coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime.
The skin must be regularly cleaned or it'll become cracked or inflamed. The skin supports its own ecosystem of microorganisms, including yeasts and bacteria, which cannot be removed by any amount of cleaning.
Following some of the above treatments, your dry skin should be well on its way to recovery. Call your doctor or naturopath when your skin feels itchy all over your body, with or without a visible rash. See your doctor or naturopathic doctor if your skin doesn't improve in spite of your best efforts.

The Cheap And Easy Way To Buy Discount Contact Lenses

With a contact lens prescription in hand, it's possible to buy discount contact lenses from stores, the Internet, over the phone, or by mail. The easiest way for most people to buy is online. Among the many kinds of contact lenses you can buy are: novelty, colored, crazy, Halloween, special effects, theatrical, costume, scary, glow in the dark, wild eyes, mirrored, black, white, and red. Now it's easy to order the perfect contact lenses online at a great discount.
You'll want to take simple precautions to make any lens purchase safe and effective. There are 75 million contact lens wearers worldwide and 31 million in the U.S. alone.
If you plan to wear lenses for more than 18 hours for the purpose of eye color change, then buy colored soft lenses. Newer soft lens materials include silicone-hydrogels to provide more oxygen to your eyes. Rigid gas permeable contact lenses are more durable, resistant to deposit buildup, and generally give a clearer, crisper vision.
People who have good distance vision but need help for reading can get a monovision reading lens for one eye. While the ability to hold water increases the oxygen permeability of soft lenses, it increases their fragility quotient as well. Some doctors prescribe disposables as planned-replacement lenses, which are removed, disinfected, and reused before being discarded.
Disposable lenses don't come with instructions for cleaning and disinfecting, while those labeled specifically for planned replacement do. Rigid lenses generally give you more clear vision. The length of continuous lens wear depends on the lens type and your doctor's evaluation of your tolerance for overnight wear.
Extended wear lenses are usually soft contact lenses; made of flexible plastics that allow oxygen to pass through to the cornea. You can become adjusted to soft lenses within just a few days, compared to several weeks for rigid ones.
Wherever you buy, shop for quality and value and don't forget you want to do what's best for your eye health. Check to see if you have a health insurance plan that includes vision coverage. When you place your contact lens order, request the manufacturer's written patient information for your contact lenses; it'll give you important risk and benefit information as well as instructions for use.
Compare prices - get quotes from two or three online and offline suppliers. Always buy from a reputable company; you can buy contact lenses without a prescription, but the company is selling you a prescription device as if it were an over-the-counter device violating FTC regulations by selling you contact lenses without having your prescription. You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club.
There are many good contact lens retailers now on the Internet making their lenses available at a good discount for prescription and non-prescription lenses. Carefully check to make sure the company gives you the exact brand you ordered, the name of the lens, the power, sphere, cylinder, if any, axis, if any, diameter base curve, and peripheral curves, if any. Beware of attempts to substitute a brand different from the one you want when buying contacts.
Daily-wear lenses are removed daily for cleaning and are a safer choice, provided they aren't worn during sleep. Don't wear lenses any longer than they're prescribed for, nor when sleeping unless you are otherwise directed. Always throw away disposable lenses after the recommended wearing period.
If your eyes become red or irritated, remove the lenses immediately and consult with your doctor. The use of homemade saline made by using salt tablets mixed in water is one of the biggest contributors to Acanthamoeba keratitis in contact lens wearers: the FDA no longer condones the use of salt tablets. One sight-threatening concern is the infection Acanthamoeba keratitis, which is caused by improper lens care; this difficult-to-treat parasitic infection's symptoms are similar to those of corneal ulcers.
Shopping for contacts online will save you a lot of money; contact lenses are deeply discounted. If you haven't had a check-up in the last one or two years, you may have problems with your eyes that you're not aware of, or your contact lenses may not correct your vision as well as you'd like. It's becoming easier and easier all the time to shop online and often the shipping is free.

Discount Contact Lenses - Shopping Secrets

You'll want to take simple precautions to make any lens purchase safe and effective. Before you buy contact lenses from anyone other than your eye care professional, it pays to be a wise consumer. Contact lens wearers are usually surprised and happy with the level of comfort that lenses provide.
In the U.S. contact lens marketplace, 82 percent wear soft lenses, 16 percent wear rigid gas-permeable, and only 2 percent wear hard. The choice of which lens is right for you should be based only on an examination by your doctor or eye care professional, not over the phone.
Although easier to handle and less likely to tear, rigid gas permeable lenses are not as comfortable initially as soft contacts and it may take a few weeks to get used to wearing the RGPs, compared to just a few days for soft contacts. While the ability to hold water increases the oxygen permeability of soft lenses, it increases their fragility quotient as well. The expiration date for your prescription is currently set by your state requiring a one-year or two-year renewal; if your state hasn't set a minimum expiration date, government regulation sets a one-year date unless your eye doctor determines there's a medical reason for less than one year.
Rigid lenses generally give you more clear vision. The length of continuous lens wear depends on the lens type and your doctor's evaluation of your tolerance for overnight wear. It's important for your eyes to have a rest, without lenses, for at least one night following each scheduled removal.
There are several types of lenses including: soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, extended wear lenses and disposables. Newer soft lens materials include silicone-hydrogels to provide more oxygen to your eyes. Soft lenses are easier to adjust and are much more comfortable than rigid lenses, because they conform to the eye and absorb and hold water.
Bifocal correction is possible with both soft and rigid lenses. If you live an active lifestyle, NIGHT & DAY breathable lenses will allow you 30 hours of continuous wear.
You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club. Rebates may be available from the seller, from the manufacturer, for first-time contact lens wearers and for individuals who buy lenses and get an eye exam. Before you buy online, check to see if there are any testimonials at the online supplier's website.
Beware of attempts to substitute a brand different from the one you want when buying contacts. When you place your order make sure your lenses are available and not out of stock, because you'll need them now. Make sure you have a current, valid prescription when you order contact lenses.
Always ask what rebates are available. When you place your contact lens order, request the manufacturer's written patient information for your contact lenses; it'll give you important risk and benefit information as well as instructions for use. Get a feel for how the retailer handles customer service calls; in case you have a problem after your order arrives.
Soft extended-wear lenses bind down on the closed eye, but they are porous and allow some tears through during sleep; because they have so little form, their binding has very little effect on the shape of the eye. One sight-threatening concern is the infection Acanthamoeba keratitis, which is caused by improper lens care; this difficult-to-treat parasitic infection's symptoms are similar to those of corneal ulcers.
To be sure your eyes remain healthy you shouldn't order lenses with a prescription that's expired or stock up on lenses right before the prescription is about to expire; it's much safer to be re-checked by your eye doctor.
Microorganisms may be present in distilled water, so always use commercial sterile saline solutions, if you plan to use enzyme tablets in water for disinfection. Heat disinfection is the only method effective against the microroganism Acanthamoeba keratitis, a common culprit for contact lens wearers, and it also kills organisms in and on the lens case. Daily-wear lenses are removed daily for cleaning and are a safer choice, provided they aren't worn during sleep.
Remember to use only contact lenses that are FDA-approved and only if prescribed by a licensed eye care professional. Laser surgery and its risks can be frightening and too expensive for some people; contacts can provide a safe, comfortable and time-tested alternative. No matter which lenses your doctor prescribes, be sure to ask for written instructions and follow them carefully.

Why Buy Vaniqa Online Only From A Licensed Pharmacy?

You can buy Vaniqa easily these days from a number of online sources. However, it pays to be cautious, especially when purchasing prescription drugs over the internet, given the number of unscrupulous vendors operating under what appear to be quite professional pharmaceutical web sites.
Before you buy Vaniqa it is important to realize that although this cream merely inhibits the growth of facial hair, it is a prescription drug. Vaniqa is the brand name for Eflornithine Hydrochloride 13.9%. Eflornithine was originally manufactured to combat malignant cancer and later was found effective against African sleeping sickness. A side effect was observed, namely, hair loss.
This aspect of the drug was utilized by Bristol-Myer Squibb and The Gillette Company to inhibit the growth of facial hair. After many years of testing and clinical trials, it was put on the market as a prescription cream in the year 2000 with FDA approval.
So when you buy Vaniqa or any prescription drug, for your own safety, it should be done under the supervision of a qualified, licensed medical practitioner. The internet however has changed the way some prescription drugs can be obtained.
Some web sites may give the appearance of being a professional pharmacy and offer prescription drugs at greatly reduced prices. However, the FDA warns against obtaining prescription drugs from unqualified sources.
For one thing, the drug may not be genuine. Secondly, it could be prescribed to individuals with other health complications and cause harm.
The American Medical Association advises against buying prescription items from web sites that merely require the user to fill out an online form. This does not meet the standard requirements of medical care.
A face-to-face consultation with a qualified medical practitioner is recommended who can then give a prescription based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the patient. The patient can then go online to a licensed pharmacy and submit the prescription information.
Only a small number of online pharmacies are registered and licensed with the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Site. This program comes under the supervision of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and they have a web site if you wish to check out more information: www.nabp.net/vipps.
True, when you buy Vaniqa it is not like purchasing some prescription drugs which carry severe side effects. Vaniqa's side effects are quite minimal. Some women who used Vaniqa just reported skin irritation and redness.
Nevertheless, there is insufficient data to suggest Vaniqa can be used without side effects on pregnant or nursing women. Also females suffering from severe cases of inflammatory acne need to be cautious. Additionally, females under 12 years of age are recommended not to use Vaniqa.
Whether you buy Vaniqa or any prescription item online, make sure you do research on the company first. Check out their web site, follow links on their home page that give details of the company, whether they have 24 hour qualified staff answering questions, and whether they are licensed to dispense prescription drugs. You can also check whether they are registered with the VIPPS (see note above).
So when you are ready to buy Vaniqa online, price is not the only qualifying factor. Make sure you are dealing with a reputable, licensed online pharmacy. The resource box below gives further information on where to buy Vaniqa safely online.

A Brief History of Makeup

The cosmetics industry sells tens of billions of dollars annually to its customers worldwide. Advertisements for makeup, hair care products and the like abound and niche magazines promoting cosmetics are some of the very best sellers.
While today’s cosmetics industry is amongst the most dominant markets, in fact makeup has been used by women for thousands of years.
The earliest recorded use of makeup involved the Egyptians of the 4th Century before Christ. Scented oils, sheep fat based cremes and eye paint were applied by upper class women to beautify their facial features.
In the following millenniums, women in the Far East, especially the Japanese and Chinese, stained their faces with a powder derived from rice to make their complexions a pasty white, while both men and women of the aristocratic classes in Europe applied white lead and chalk powders to achieve the same ghostly effect. The pale face was desirable, as it differentiated the wealthy from the ‘common’ workers who had sun-bronzed complexions. Another method of obtaining the desired look involved a powder comprised largely of hydroxide, carbonate, and lead oxide, the latter often leading to lead poisoning. During this same period, Greek women applied ocher clay and red iron to their lips – perhaps the first historical lipstick application.
Little changed during the dark centuries of the Middle Ages. Perfumes with alcohol bases were introduced to Europe by Crusaders returning from the Middle East in the 1200’s. In the 1400’s upper class women in England, again seeking a whiter complexion, took to applying egg whites to their faces. But the real emergence of makeup in European society took place commencing in the following two centuries, especially in France and Italy, with the former in particular being responsible for the development of manufacturing facilities for both makeup and perfumes. These were created from aromatic natural ingredients like fruits, tree bark, flowers and roots employing a very laborious blending process that necessitated the use of excessive quantities of these natural ingredients in order to produce very small amounts of products.
The use of cosmetics spread throughout Europe during the next two hundred years, with their use becoming more and more prevalent amongst all but the poorest women. And in the 1800’s, the French began developing more advanced scientific processes for the creation of new cosmetic products, with zinc oxide bases now replacing more dangerous substances such as copper and lead. And the first beauty salons made their appearance towards the end of the 19th century.
It should be noted that that at some times and places, such as in Victorian England of the 19th century, the use of makeup and other cosmetics was frowned upon and seen as proper only for stage actors and the like, being far too ‘vulgar’ for upper class society.
But the birth of the cosmetics industry as we know it today did not take place until the early 1930’s. In large part, Hollywood was responsible. Popular actresses such as Mary Pickford and Jean Harlow appeared on screen before millions of admiring women across America and Europe, introducing a modern tanned look to the masses. And Hollywood makeup artist Max Factor began using pancake make-up and other products to produce desirable looks for the cameras.
Following the end of the Second World War and with the emerging economic boom, came the growth of today’s cosmetics industry, accelerated by the new technology of television. Ads for cosmetic products, especially lipsticks and mascaras, abounded and concurrently came the blossoming of the beauty magazine industry. Since the 1970’s an abundance of new cosmetic products to meet the concerns of a health conscious public have been created, such as natural cremes and conditioners and, more recently, mineral makeup.
Today there are literally tens of thousands of cosmetic products on the market. Television, newspapers, specialty magazines and websites are saturated with marketing messages and promotions for every possible sort of cosmetic need imaginable. For the consumer, this means both more choice, and lower prices due to the amount of competition for the customer’s wallet. The cosmetics industry has definitely traveled a long way since the sheep fat cremes of the ancient world.

Your First Buzz Cut

Whether you're cutting your friend's hair or your own, your first cut will be unlike any other. Before you begin, make sure you have the necessary materials:
Working clippers made specifically for head hair (see our clippers section for recommendations)
Clipper lubricating oil (Olive Oil also works well)
Small brush or old toothbrush for clearing clipper blades of cut hair
Clipper blade guards for desired cutting length
Gather the materials together on a large surface, maybe a bathroom vanity or kitchen counter. To prepare the clippers, first remove any hair guards attached so the clippers blades are exposed. Using a small brush or toothbrush, brush away any visible hair clippings that remain on the blades from prior use. You may have to poke and brush from several directions to remove all hair. Using an eye-dropper or Q-tip, lubricate the blades by dropping small amounts of oil across the blade, letting the oil slide down into the clippers. Wipe off any excess oil that remains. Now plug in the clippers and turn them on. You should hear and smooth humming sound and visually see the blades moving back and forth smoothly. If you see or hear obstructions, unplug the clippers and remove any loose hair with the brush. In some cases after heavy use, you may need to remove the screws and disassemble the unit in order to extract hair that has fallen inside the unit itself.
Now that the materials are ready, it's time to prepare for shaving. For longer hair, comb or brush hair to remove any tangles. It may also help to dampen the hair and then blow dry before trimming. Select the blade guard for desired length of hair, and attach securely to the clippers. (Make sure the guard is not lose, as loose guards are known to fall off and cause embarrassing stories).
Begin cutting with the hair close to the ear, moving the clippers up towards the top of the head. As you cut, pay attention to the sound the clippers make when hair is being cut, as this will be helpful if you ever need to cut blind. You will notice a distinct sound when hair is cutting, and a distinct sound when cut hair has jammed the clippers and should be brushed out. Depending on the thickness of the hair, cutting may go rather quickly. Some folks can cut large swipes at a time (4-6 inches), while others will need to cut with shorter strokes. While cutting, remember to use the small brush to remove hair from the blade. You may need to remove the guard in order to brush hair out adequately. Also, depending on the quality and age of the clippers, it may help to re-lubricate the blades during the shave.
Once all of the long hair is gone and the cut looks even and nice, take a shower to wash out all the loose hairs left. After showering you will be able to look again for any long hairs or uneven spots and take care of them easily. You can finish up with a razor or beard trimmer to cut around the ears and the neck line.
If everything looks good, congratulations! There's no feeling like a fresh buzz. But before running out to show your friends, take just a moment to take care of your equipment. Brush out the clippers real good and re-lubricate before storing. This will help the blades stay sharp and will make preparation easier next time.

Chemical Peel Facts - Is It Right For You

Nowadays, there are a lot of options available towards getting that youthful glow for your skin. From the most complicated of plastic surgeries, to a simple face lift or chemical peel - there are about a hundred options that one can choose from to remove dead skin cells and get rid of that old, wrinkled look to give your spirits a lift and your morale a boost.
1. Skin Damage
When we go out and get exposed to sunlight, the outer layer of our skin gets damaged and dead skin cells remain embedded on our skin, resulting from the dirt that gets stuck to the pores. Thus, as we grow old, the skin looks more dull and lifeless. When you add the acne scars, freckles and other facial blemishes, you really would like to have an option to restore that youthful glow that only movie stars seem to exude on screen, no matter how old or young they are.
2. What Is A Chemical Peel?
If you would not like to go for the surgical and more complicated procedures such as face lift and plastic surgery, chemical peel is definitely an option for you. There are three basic types of chemical peel that you can choose from, depending your individual need and skin type. Basically, a chemical peel is a procedure wherein the dead skin cells and the damaged outer layers of the skin are removed. There is that chemical word in the term because a chemical solution is used to smoothen or even out the texture of the skin. Eventually, the chemical applied causes the skin to peel off, hence the term chemical peel. This is typically done on the face, neck or hands. The procedure also enhances your overall look by removing the damaged outer skin layers. This is applicable and recommended for people with uneven skin tones, for people with wrinkles and facial scars from pimple/acne, and for people who just need to improve their skin texture.
3. Mild Peel
This procedure removes the superficial skin layer. This is the most skin-friendly type of peel and may be performed on all skin types. It is used to treat simple acne and pimple scars and uneven skin pigmentation. The chemical peel involves a dilute acid solution, which normally stays on the skin for a few minutes. After the chemical has been applied, the skin is neutralized with water, then the solution is wiped off. This type of peeling procedure produces a light peel, and will result to a smoother and brighter-looking skin and improved skin texture.
4. Medium Peel
This procedure goes a little beyond the superficial layer of the skin. After the treatment, the person undergoing the procedure will experience a sun-burned look and the skin might look chafed. The chemical solution stays longer on the skin, as compared to mild peels. This is applicable for people with more sun-damaged skin types, and can treat wrinkles as well as uneven skin pigmentation.
5. Deep Peel (RARELY USED)
As compared to the mild and medium-depth peel, the chemical used for this type of peeling goes through several skin layers. This can treat more pronounced skin pigmentations and wrinkles, as well as pre-cancerous growths. Moreover, this has more medical complications and considerations so it is better to consult a medical professional before undergoing a deep chemical peel. The procedure will definitely take a longer time, about more than an hour, for the chemical applied on the affected skin to take effect. However, the results are more glaring than the first two types.
After the treatment, whether you opt to go for a mild, medium-depth or deep peel, the person who underwent the procedure will experience redness of the skin. This will be followed by scaling, then peeling. The number of days that the skin will peel depends on the strength of the treatment. It is also important to avoid sun exposure after undergoing the chemical peel procedure. Finally, it is always good to consult a medical professional before undergoing any procedure, to be on the safe side. It is better to know every detail about the treatment that you would like to undergo, so that you would know how your skin would be treated and what to expect right after the treatment.

Body lotions come in many different combinations of herbs, natural products derived from fruits, plant leaves or seeds. They work in so many ways, such as healing dry skin, improving skin’s texture, nourishing and replenishing skin’s lost natural oils as well as it restores the radiance of the skin.
I. Natural Ingredients:
1. Shea butter
Derived from the fruit kernels of the shea nut tree, it has remarkable healing and softening abilities. Studies show that shea butter has anti inflammatory effects on the skin, thus increase wound healing and improve scar appearance. From its physical make up of vitamin E, vitamin A, and cinnamic acid as well as a unique fatty acid profile, this butter can moisturize and heal dry skin.
2. Sunflower oil
Is rich in vitamins E and A and very high in fatty acids that aids in restoring skin moisture, natural oils and regenerates. Vitamin A encourages collagen production and is able to retain moisture.

- Choose a moisturizing lotion Take note of the positive changes it has done to your skin. Note these changes and if you love the results, then continue using it.
- Know your skin Although many lotions are for all skin types, there are lotions which are specifically formulated for normal, dry, amd extra dry skin. It is best to buy a lotion that could address to your skin type to achieve the best results.
- Know what you need Do you need a lotion just for daily moisturizing? Or you have stretch marks that needs attention too? There are hundreds of moisturizing products in the market that can improve the appearance of your stretch marks as well as nourish your skin.
- Consider your skin’s condition If you have sensitive skin, choose a moisturizing lotion that is noncomedogenic. This means that the lotion has been proven and tested not to cause acne reactions on the skin. Likewise, unscented body lotions will unlikely cause allergies.
- Consider your lifestyle If you are the type who loves spending time outdoors, you may need a lotion with ultraviolet protection, to minimize skin wrinkling and drying.
- Consider the season In winter, choose a heavier lotion with shea butter or any intensive ingredient. During the summer, a lighter, well absorbed lotion with aloe vera and sunscreen protection works best

Eczema - Causes And Treatment

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is characterized by a red itchy rash that is scaly and is oozing in some cases. The condition can appear on the arms and legs, cheeks, forehead, and in body parts such as knees and elbows where there are creases. In some cases, skin will have a leathery feel and even crack or blister. Some people also experience a thickening of the skin, red patches and even a slight color change when they have eczema.
1. Skin Conditions
This refers to the skin's inflammation, while atopic means an allergic, and usually genetic or inherited, tendency. The condition is common for infants, although eczema is typically outgrown. The child's condition could be chronic, or recur with regularity, if the problem persists beyond the second birthday, when eczema usually disappears. Eczema can worsen during winter, when dryness pervades the house, and summer, when temperatures could rise to extremes.
2. Treatment
The rashes are easy to eliminate, although they return sometimes even with proper treatment. To prevent eczema, bubble baths, exposure to extreme heat, strong soaps and other triggers must be avoided. In cases where these triggers are sometimes hard to avoid or identify, moisturizers may be the most important weapon one can use to prevent any flare-up of the condition. Since atopic dermatitis can accompany dry skin, individuals with this skin type will benefit from taking a daily bath - of about 5-10 minutes - with lukewarm water and using only a mild soap with moisturizing properties. This helps locks the moisture into the skin, limiting the likelihood of eczema development. Some people benefit from having topical medications as the first layer of treatment, with moisturizers or lubricants applied on top as the second layer, following a bath. This two-pronged approach should be enough to maintain healthy and hydrated skin.
3. Ointments & Creams
Greasy ointments are one of several moisturizers available in the market. Aquaphor and Vaseline are probably the more popular choices, although consumers should also consider other brands and similar products to determine which one works best for their skin. For more extreme eczema break-outs, individuals may need to turn to topical steroids and Protopic and other non-steroidal treatments. Hydrocortisone creams are among the very mild over-the-counter topical steroids one can use, even on facial eczema. Drug stores will already ask for a prescription for Dermatop, 0.1% Triamcinolone, Cutivate, Elocon and other more potent topicals. These stronger products are generally not advisable for children, as they could have adverse effects.
4. Medications
Protopic, Elidel and other non-steroidal medications, or immunodulators, are preferred for children with eczema. These milder topicals can be used twice daily, and even on the face and other more sensitive areas. However, steroid-free medications take a longer time before producing results compared to topical steroids. Some doctors recommend antihistamines as part of eczema treatment. Atarax, Benadryl and other antihistamines with a sedative effect are particularly effective in cases when itching is already hampering sleep. Other solutions that can also help are cold compresses, wet dressings, ultraviolet light therapy, oral steroids and cylcosporin and other immunosuppressive drugs.
5. Other Factors
Some individuals may find that the condition is common within the family. One who is genetically disposed to having sensitive skin could easily trigger bouts of eczema due to an allergy, stress or other specific environmental factor. Asthma, allergic rhinitis and other similar disorders tend to accompany eczema in these individuals. When this happens, the allergen or source of the allergy must be identified first and properly addressed. These sources could include shrimp and other seafood, strawberries, nuts, cow's milk, eggs and other types of food. Pollen, dust mites and other airborne agents are also possible triggers. Eczema can also be driven by irritation to specific substances such as detergents, products containing chlorine, earrings and jewelry containing silver or nickel, woolen fabrics, synthetic materials, latex rubber, and formaldehyde and similar chemicals.
6. Treatment Tips
Eczema may not require continuous treatment, as most people generally outgrow the condition as they become older. However, antibiotics may have to be used when infections set in and hamper treatment of the flares. A dermatologist, allergologist or other specialist should be consulted after reasonable time and treatment fails to eliminate eczema or improve skin condition. Consultation should be immediate particularly if the affected individual develops fluid- or pus-filled blisters, which are symptomatic of eczema herpeticum - a rare complication attributed to the herpes simplex virus.

From Lacking To Lushious - What To Look For In A Lip Balm

They flake. They peel. They crack. They hurt. In addition, they are about as kissable as sandpaper. Nobody wants chapped lips. But cold, dry, or windy conditions or just some bad luck in the genes department can definitely dry out and roughen up that tender and sensitive section of your face. Hence, using lip balm regularly is the best way to keep lips moist and prevent chapped lips. All lip balms, no matter what their ingredients, are, basically, a way to replace or add to the normal, moisture-retaining barrier of the skin. Lip balms functions the same way as lip-gloss, though, the former is more of a treatment and the latter is more on its cosmetic purpose.
1. What Are Lip Balms?
Generally, lip balms are made from menthol, scented oils, beeswax, camphor, petroleum jelly, and other different components like alum, salicylic acid, and vitamins. When buying lip balms, there are certain factors that need to be considered. There are ingredients that when present in lip balms may induce greater result and long-lasting treatment.
2. Go natural
Basically, all lip balms are created for the same purpose and are definitely effective on their own ways. However, it is still important to choose lip balms that contain natural substances. This is to be sure that using lip balms will not irritate your chapped, dry lips.
3. Look for the super friendly oils.
When buying lip balm, it is best to buy those that contain vegetable oils like olive oil and almond oil. These particular types of vegetable oils are useful in bringing back the natural oils to the lips. Hence, you will have healthy-looking, clean, shiny lips.
4. Consider the kind of lip service you want from your lip balm.
Do you want to use it as an everyday alternative to lip-gloss? Are you looking for medical treatment with regards to your super dry, heavily chapped lips? Do you want to provide some sun-block protection to your lips? Or do you just want to have that super protection that you had been longing to have? Lip balm uses may vary from the everyday lip care to the super-protection lip balms.
5. Consider the kind of weather you have on your place.
How often should you use lip balm to prevent your lips from chapping? It depends on where you live and the time of the year. For example, if you live in Denver, the typical weather or climatic condition would be very dry and cold in the winter, and there is a lot of sun. Hence, it is important that you should use a lip balm on a daily basis, applying it a couple of times a day. If your neck of the woods is less dry, less cold, or less sunny, you may be able to use lip balm less frequently.
6. Choose a lip balm with sunscreen.
The lips take a solar beating just like the other areas of the face that are exposed to sunlight, but they typically do not get protection from sunscreen. That is why it experts strongly suggest using a lip balm with a sun-blocking ingredient. People, however, should be wary of using lip balms with sunscreen protection elements. Some people are sensitive to sunscreen, and their lips can become chapped because they are using it on their lips. Hence, if you notice any itching or redness, go back to a lip balm without the extra protection.
7. Observe the first batch of lip balms you have bought
It is really hard to distinguish the different ingredients in lip balms and its propensity to cure chapped lips. In fact, there are instances wherein some lip balms can even make the matter worst. And so, it is extremely important to note if a certain brand of lip balm can actually do more harm than good. If this is the case, then, it would be better to find another brand and look for the possible ingredient that could have caused the irritation. Indeed, it has been said before but it certainly bears repeating: The fastest way for a woman to update her look is by simply swiping a flattering shade of lipstick over her kisses. However, this is not possible if you have dry, chapped lips.

Get Rid Of Unwanted Hair Your Own Way

Unwanted hair on the face or on the body affects a huge number of women. Some women are likely to develop hair growth where they don’t want it usually during the onset of their puberty period. Unwanted hairs are usually specific traits that are inherited, through families or races.
I. Ways To Get Rid Of Hair:
1. Shaving
This is done either through electric razors or a disposable razor held by hand, that can give about three dozen of smooth shaves. Applying a shaving cream on wet skin will be helpful in achieving a smooth appearance. While this method is very fast, easy and painless, the results are brief; usually will last 2 - 3 days. New hair growth can be bristly giving you rough and even legs that are painful to the touch. Avoid razor burns:
- Always shave with a new blade.
- Shave thoroughly, applying as little pressure as possible, paying special attention to the curves.
- Wash off shaving cream with cold water.
- Apply an aftershave.
- Pat with a towel to dry the area well.
- Smooth on lotion to skin.
2. Waxing:
Waxing is a method of epilation, meaning the hair is plucked from beneath the surface of the skin. The results of waxing can lasts long for several weeks. Waxing involves two techniques, warm and cold waxing. Both can be easily done at home with the use of waxing kits. Warm waxing is usually performed in a salon and more effective compared to cold waxing. Pain is dependent to each individual’s threshold. Hand pressure is applied so discomfort can be minimized. The waxed area will remain red for a few hours.
- In a warmer, wax is heated until it melts.
- Using a spatula, the warmed wax is then applied to the skin.
- A paper or cloth strip is positioned over the wax until cooled.
- The cooled wax becomes slightly hard and the strip is pulled to the direction opposite the hair growth.
3. Depilatory Creams:
These creams work by dissolving the hair on the surface of the skin, which normally takes ten to fifteen minutes. It is applied to the skin and leaving it for a few minutes then washed off using a towel or a sponge. With this method, hair can grow back as fast as shaving and some depilatory creams have unpleasant odors. Chemical depilatories are mainly used for the under arms, arms and legs. Using it on the face will cause irritations unless it is stated in the label that it is safe for the face. Thin hairs are damaged faster than thick ones; therefore these creams may be not effective on certain areas of the body and in some individuals. When applying the cream for the first time, test it first by rubbing a small amount onto an area of the skin. Wait for a few minutes and see if it causes a reaction on your skin. If it does, do not use it. Read and follow the instructions carefully, the manufacture has provided instructions for safety. Do not leave the cream on your skin longer than what the label says for it could irritate your skin.
4. Electrolysis
This method is done by destroying the roots of the hair with an electric current, thereby loosening the hair follicles, and removing it with tweezers. This is a simple process where a very thin needle that is electrically charged is inserted into the hair follicle, where the hair is coming out. The follicle is then zapped with electricity and destroyed.
5. Laser
Hair must be in a growing stage during this treatment, reason why laser is done on a few sessions. All follicles are always not on the same phase and all not at the same time and each stage or phase of hair growth can last from two to six months. Growth, regression and resting are the stages of hair growth. This method disables the ability of the follicle to make more hair. The stage growth and hair darkness will determine how many sessions is required to get rid of all unwanted hairs. Once the session is finished though, one could go on for life without unwanted hairs.

Lighten Your Skin The Fast And Easy Way

Everyone have the same quantity of melanocytes that are cells producing melanin. People with darker skin tone produce more melanin into the skin compared to those with fairer skin. Releasing melanin is the body’s reaction to exposure to the sun's ultra violet rays. The use of sunscreen products helps protects the skin from the ultra violet rays of the sun, keeping melanin production at a minimum.
1. Skin Lightening Ingredients:
Hydroquinone
Hydroquinone is powerful in holding back the production of melanin, thus giving dark skin a lighter shade. It is not a skin bleach. When this product is exposed to the sun, it can turn into a strange shade of dark to medium brown, therefore, it is very important that when buying the product, it must be packed in an opaque container so light can not get in. It is also important that when using a hydroquinone product to use sunscreen as well.
Tretinion
Research show that tretinion is effective in the treatment of skin discolorations. However, it would usually take at least six months before results are seen. Thus, the use of tretinion solely is not advised for skin lightening rather it should be combined with other skin lightening treatments to give maximum results.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids
Alpha hydroxy acid products that come in concentrations of 4 to 10 percent are not successful in hindering melanin production as well as will not lighten the skin of discolorations. Yet on the other hand, there is substantial proof that when used in combination with other skin care medication such as hydroquinone, kojic acid and azelaic acid they can be very successful for improving and correcting the general appearance of damaged skin due to over exposure to the sun and assisting the other ingredients to effectively penetrate the skin.
Arbutin
Because of the arbutin's high hydroquinone content it may have melanin-inhibiting properties, though researches done in explaining the arbutin's eficiency is very convincing, as to how much of it is needed to effectively lighten the skin are yet to be established. In addition, arbutin is not widely used by the majority of cosmetic companies in their products for the reason that there are patents that limit the use of arbutin for skin lightening. Instead, certain cosmetics companies are using plant extracts that contain arbutin such as bearberry. Unluckily, there is no study showing that the bearberry plant source of arbutin has any influence on skin lightening.
Kojic Acid
Kojic acid is derived from the process of fermentation of malting rice, that is used in the making of sake, a Japanese rice wine. Research show that kojic acid is effective for stoping melanin production. Glycolic or kojic acid, or glycolic acid with hydroquinone, are extremely effective in decreasing pigmentation. Kojic acid is very unstable when used in cosmetic formulations. When exposed to sunlight or air, it may change to a darker color and loose its affectivity. Thus, most cosmetic companies now use kojic dipalmitate as alternative to kojic acid since it is much more stable in formulations. Still, there is no concrete study that shows kojic dipalmitate is as effective as kojic acid, even though it is an effective antioxidant.
Vitamin C (L- Ascorbic Acid)
Vitamin C as Ascorbyl form has been proven to inhibit melanin production, resulting in a brighter and lighter skin. In addition, Vitamin C plays a vital role in collagen synthesis, increasing collagen production in the skin as well as it regenerate Vitamin E, that suppresses free radicals.
Azelaic Acid
Azelaic acid is a component of certain grains like wheat, rye, and barley. When applied at a I20 percent of concentration, it is very effective in correcting certain skin conditions. Not only it is used for the treatment of acne, but studies also show that it is effective for skin lightening and discolorations.
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate
This form of vitamin C is stable and as it is an effective antioxidant, it also lightens the skin by inhibiting melanin production.

Safe Alternative To Vaniqa For Facial Hair Removal

Is there a safe alternative to Vaniqa cream for women wanting to do something about unwanted facial hair?
Yes there is! In fact, this alternative to Vaniqa was on the market some years before Vaniqa was finally approved by the FDA (Food And Drug Administration) for public distribution on prescription in the year 2000.
In the early 1990's a lesser known company operating near Toronto in Canada by the name of Nisim International was carrying out extensive research in its laboratories for a natural herbal solution to hair loss.
In 1993 they released the NewHair Biofactors range which consisted of deep cleansing shampoos and a hair growth stimulator made from natural herbs. It received a positive write up in the Medical Post of 1993 and the article listed some impressive success results from the clinical trials. (See www.4-hair-loss-solutions.com/baldness-medical-post.html for the full text of the article)
In the course of this research the folks at Nisim stumbled on a way to not only stop hair loss and get hair to regrow, they also found a way to stop unwanted hair from growing by interrupting the mechanism for hair growth in the hair follicle.
This led to the release of Kalo Hair Growth Inhibitor in 1997, some years before Vaniqa arrived on the scene.
There are some main differences between this alternative to Vaniqa and Vaniqa cream. For one thing, Kalo can be used by men, women and children whereas Vaniqa is only for women and girls under the age of 12 are recommended not to use it.
Vaniqa is available on prescription only, Kalo is a non-prescription hair growth inhibitor.
Some may raise a question over Kalo being a viable alternative to Vaniqa because it is not FDA approved. While that is true it is important to understand the process of FDA approval.
Vaniqa was brought to the market by two powerful giants in the personal care industry, Bristol-Myer Squibb and The Gillette Company. Will millions of dollars available they put up the necessary funding to get Vaniqa through the many years of tests and trials necessary before the FDA gives approval.
The final clinical trial results showed that 58% of women who used Vaniqa found a reduction in hair growth. That means a fairly large percentage did not see any difference.
The alternative to Vaniqa, Kalo, is produced by a small company without the massive resources available to the major pharmaceuticals. They also rely on word of mouth instead of pouring large sums into advertising. As a result, Kalo has grown in popularity and since the appearance of Vaniqa on the personal care scene, it has proven to be a viable non-prescription alternative to Vaniqa cream.
As with Vaniqa, Kalo doesn't work for everyone. That's why the company offers a money back guarantee. Given the rate of returns and refunds however, no more than about 1%, it is evident the majority of users are satisfied to a degree.
Finding an ideal method of facial hair removal is a matter of experimentation for many women before settling on the method that suits their pocket, skin sensitivity and lifestyle.
Combining the use of Vaniqa cream, or an alternative to Vaniqa such as Kalo, has helped thousands of women make facial hair removal sessions much easier and more convenient!

Unfortunately, not all natural creams last long enough to provide the user their best results. Natural creams are easily spoiled unless injected with preservatives; but opting for that would mean losing the natural essence of the product.
Important factors are the ingredients. The ingredients to stay away from are the following. Also known as artificial anti aging creams, these products contain unnatural peptides, Vitamin A or retina-A, Alph-Lipoic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid or DMAE. These products are possible factors for skin rashes when used onto the wrong skin type, and worse, they could be the very sources of skin cancer and other skin abnormalities.
Anti-aging has become one of the great concerns of many, since nobody wants to look old anyway. Perhaps, one may agree to the thought of getting older and wiser. And perhaps, as one gets wiser too, considering new ways to combat this aging dilemma could be a great idea. As a cosmetics user, you are always open to two options: go artificial or go natural, but for the choice of safety and for the choice of receiving par benefits, going natural would be the best option and always ask your online drugstore for additional advice.

Super Soap Guide - Not All Soaps Are The Same

The demand for handmade soap is increasing at a fast rate. Consumers of today are well aware of the hazardous chemicals used in commercial soaps, that they are now seeking for a better and safer alternative. Created by the chemical reaction between certain oils, water and lye, the soap is the oldest agent used for keeping the body clean. Oils and fats used for soap are combinations of glycerin compounds and fatty acids. Glycerin and the sodium salt of fatty acids are formed when oils and alkali are mixed. Soap making requires fatty acids and are supplied by grease, tallow, fish and vegetable oils. The lathering quality of the soap, including its hardness and transparency varies in accordance to the fat and alkali combinations that are used as ingredients. The best soap uses a combination of many oils.
1. Functionality From Ingredients
Almost all soaps eliminate grease and dirt because a few of their components surface active ingredients, or surfactants, having a molecular structure acting as a connection between the dirt particles and water. The particles from the underlying surfaces are loosened. One end of the molecule is hydrophilic; meaning attracted to water and the other end is hydrophobic, meaning attracted to substances which are not water soluble. This structure permits the soap to stick to substances that are then, not water soluble. Dirt is then washed away. A handmade soap has glycerin, while the commercial soap does not. It is a clear liquid that can absorb water from the air, making it an important factor in keeping the skin healthy. Glycerin soap is especially suitable for sensitive skin, due to its high quality by-product.

- Handmade soaps produces naturally occurring glycerin which is a natural humectant that draws moisture unto the skin. Most commercial soaps have the glycerin removed, containing detergents instead.

- Pure aloe vera - handmade soaps having pure aloe vera content is the best. Aloe vera retains the skins natural moisture as well as soothes dry skin, keeping skin soft and healthy

Teeth Whitening Toothpaste Works But So Should You

Teeth whitening procedures vary in accessibility and price. It used to be that dentists were the ones solely knowledgeable in the process of teeth whitening, but the popularity of teeth whitening toothpastes have made the practice easily achievable by anyone.
I. Toothpastes
Teeth whitening toothpaste has been proven to work since a popular whitening toothpaste has been proven to achieve a record of 1.5 shades of whitening improvement after only a month of being used. The problem lies on the teeth itself and how much the bearer of the teeth will be as eager to support and contribute to the cause of his or her own teeth whitening. Be realistic. Teeth whitening toothpastes work, but teeth turned pristine white need to be kept white, the same way that newly-washed cars need to be regularly kept clean, and newly-bleached white clothes need to be kept away from chocolate, grease or dirt.
II. Teeth Discoloration
1. Basic Tooth Color
In all races, culture, and in different kinds of people, tooth color is just as similarly varied. There are numerous shades of white existing not just in the palette of nature but also in the teeth of humans. No specific color or shade exists that determines it to be the one color that would rule them all. Although some person’s teeth are naturally brighter than the others, this is no cause for alarm. Teeth whitening toothpastes whiten to a lighter degree the shades of one’s teeth, but no two shades are alike, one could be better or not so better than the other.
2. Discoloration Agents Abound
They are everywhere, agents of discoloration surround every person and each tooth which in turn create - if not wreak havoc - on one’s pearly whites. The amount of discoloration a teeth would have really depends on how consistent their exposure is to these discoloration agents. And they are so easily accessible: from coffees, dark sodas to red wine. These all bring darkening of the teeth, voluntarily or involuntarily. It all depends on the teeth’s owner and how much he or she could regulate the intake of these elements. But the major source of teeth discoloration is through smoking. Cigarettes stain the teeth as well as leave a not so healthy stain on the lungs, mouth and throat, but that is another story.
3. Tetracycline exposure
Children aged eight years old and below who were given antibiotics which contained tetracycline were found to possess a yellowish brown as well as a bluish grey staining on their teeth when they grew up as adults. Tetracycline has therefore been attributed to this problem and so have been prevented from being given to children during the formative years of tooth growth.
4. Too Much Flouride
Fluorosis is a condition that causes a chalky-white as well as a brown tooth staining. This is caused by too much ingestion of fluoride during an age where children, usually below five years old, mostly swallow all the toothpaste placed on their toothbrushes. Children at this young an age should be guided on how to appropriately brush the teeth to avoid further teeth discoloration problem in the future.
5. Gum Recession
Teeth will appear dark in some people who have receding gums in one or more teeth. The reason for this is that the surface of teeth are not covered by enamel but by dentin. Dentin is a dark material that occurs in the teeth ordinarily. Teeth whitening toothpaste may have difficulty whitening teeth stained by a naturally-occurring element in the mouth, but it could try.
6. Old Age
Though teeth can be cleaned white and be prevented from turning dark or discolored, old age cannot. There are people whose teeth color turned to a darker shade as they grew in age and matured. Yellowing is common in most teeth.
